I haven't updated in a while and I'm sorry about that....

When we got home mom and dad were looking at us funny. I didn't know why. Them staring was kind of freaking Braden out and it was obvious.
"Mom, dad, what's up?" I asked.
No answer. Well...this doesn't seem good.
Finally they said "You guys went out with Seth for a very long time. And we are still worried about you. I realize Braden's parents are dead and gone now but that doesn't mean there still aren't bad people in this world. And we tried calling you multiple times."
I looked down at my phone. I always have a bad tendency to never check it.
"I'm sorry." I said finally. "I forgot to check it and Braden and I wanted a little more freedom before school starts tomorrow."
"Another reason for us to be mad! You shouldn't be out so late on school nights!"
They were starting to piss me off. "Okay first off, you guys wanted Braden to have a social life. We were just doing what you said. And secondly, Braden is dropping out anyway."
"Like hell he is!" My dad said.
"That isn't even an option Braden." My mom said sternly.
With all the attention on him Braden didn't really know how to handle the situation.
"But...they are mean to me." He mumbled. He sounded like a little kid.
"Oh don't be a pussy!" My father spat. "Be a man. So the kids call you names, big deal!"
I could not believe what just came out of my dad's mouth.
I could see the tears brimming in Braden's eyes. He ran to his room.
"Dad!" I said. "You can't say those things to him!"
"What?" Dad said. "I can't say the truth? That boy needs to toughen up."
"He was abused for most of his life you inconsiderate asshole!" I screamed.
"Don't talk to me in that tone young lady!" Dad said. "Key word in that sentence is was. His dad is gone now and so he needs to start functioning normally. And he won't listen to his therapists. And now a few kids call him names. He's been abused, name calling won't hurt him."
I stormed away, absolutely infuriated.
Bullying is serious and my parents were treating it like it was nothing. Monica from last year was hell and so was Michael. Last I saw them Monica was trying to have sex with Braden and Michael put drugs in my drink.
Bullying caused many suicides. Bullying is serious and I don't care what they say against it. I can't believe them!
"Braden?" I asked, knocking on his door. "Can I come in?"
When he didn't reply I came in anyway.
He was laying under his covers, headphones in, trying to drown out the world. The world being my parents of course.
"You okay?" I asked.
"I think I should leave." He said finally.
"What?" I said. Leave?
"Mom and dad never wanted me. They wanted a baby. They wanted William. My dad is out of the picture now. I could go out and find a job, get out of here. Leave."
"No." I said sternly. "No you can't."
"And why not Hallie?!" He said. I saw a bottle of Vodka and immediently knew why he was acting like this.
"Because I'm a selfish bitch and I want you all to myself even though you don't like being here." I said.
He glared at me. I hadn't seen his glare in a long time.
"Everyone hates me here. I need to start over."
"I don't fucking hate you!" I said. "What about me, Hallie, the one who saved you from your psychotic parents!"
"Maybe you should've just left me to die with them!" He said, tears streaming down his cheeks.
And that was the night we had our first proper fight, the night before we went to school, the night before our shitty lives got even shittier.
