Chapter 7: Conceal, Don't Feel

These next few days of school sucked. I had to wear these like, fancy 'hand cuffs' to conceal my powers that Schwoz had made me.

People kept asking me where I got the bracelets so I had to keep lying and making up stores.

"Why did this have to happen to me?" I sighed asking Henry as we walked out of our eighth period class together. "Hey," he grabbed both my hands smiling. "We'll figure this out together."

"Awww, check it out! Hart and his little girlfriend! Aren't you going to kiss?" Someone suddenly shouted from the back. I turned around to see this big fat ugly dude with really messy hair who looked like he got left back by a lot of years.

Henry narrowed his eyes at the guy. "Get lost Mitch," he scowled. 'Mitch' didn't look pleased by the comment. He began storming over to us, but I quickly stepped in front of the two of them.

"Alright Hart, you're going to get it now--" I stopped him while he was just about to raise his fist. "Hey! Hey! Knock it off ok?! Leave us alone or I'll get the principal!" I threatened.

The bully narrowed his eyes and his response was a scoff before leaving. He then turned around once more to face us. "This isn't over, Hart!" Finally, he left.

"Hey, you didn't have to do that," Henry smiled at me. I shrugged. "Kiss me." He then leaned in for a quick kiss. "So...I'll see ya later," he smiled and we waved and we left for our final class.

Little did I know, two dangerous criminals were awaiting outside the school to kidnap me.

I walked out the building, completely oblivious as I was looking down at my phone texting Uncle Ray....or should I say now Captain Man to come pick me up from school. I still can't believe that my uncle is Captain Man and my boyfriend is Kid Danger, and how long have I known both of them and neither one said a word.

I mean, you'd think they'd both be super excited to tell me as soon as they met me, but I just don't know with guys these days. My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by two shadows it seemed were hovering over me. I turned around gasping before I dropped my phone on the sidewalk.

I walked to my locker with Charlotte today at the end of the day to get my books for homework and studying.....ugh.

As we were talking and grabbing my stuff, I noticed something fell out, like...a folded up piece of paper. "Hey, what's this?" I ask, bending down to pick it up.

"Seems like a folded up piece of paper," Charlotte said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes at her response.

"Well, there's gotta be a message on it or something," she then said, looking over my shoulder. "What does it say?"

"Hold on a sec ok?" I snap back as I unfold the paper. My eyes went wide as I read the note. "What?!" She said again. "It says; Kid Danger, I have your girlfriend. If you want her back alive and unharmed, come meet us at the address below."

We both exchanged worried looks as we read the address. "Girlfriend?" Charlotte then asked, raising an eyebrow. "Uhhh.....uhh, she's not my girlfriend, Char! What do you mean? I mean, we just started hanging out! We're good friends, ok? Stop asking questions gah!!" I threw my arms up in the air annoyed before walking away, ignoring her alarmed look.

I had to see Ray. This was definitely not good....
