Chap- 31

I walk out of the hotel to see the usual 
"I'm so famous" I chuckle as I see Albert standing beside an open door to the limousine 
"Good evening Mr. Ketchum" as I walk in he closes the door behind me and goes into the front seat "So we're going to the party I assume" 

I reply with a yes as he drives through the roads of Unova and to the private restaurant 

And completely through the journey I kept on fiddling with my suit 
"I swear, as soon as this is done, I swear to Arceus I'll never wear a suit again" I fuss while Albert chuckles 
"I used to be like you when I was younger even though I wasn't champion of a region but, I never really had a taste for formal clothes" He then parks the car by the side of the road where there was a building and I knew we had arrived
Albert then opened the door for me and I got out 
"You are my butler and all but you don't have to do everything for me," I say

He just smiled
"I'm only doing my job and besides it's an honor" 
I smiled taking his gratitude and I was greeted by a person with jet black hair and brown eyes  in an all white tux 
"Well, if it isn't the Unova champion, Ash Ketchum," He said in a very cocky tone 

It only took me seconds to recognize that voice 
He turned around to face me and I knew who the person was 

"Calem??"
He smirked "It's been a while," 
We both walk into the Fancy restaurant where I see all the gym leaders that I've faced through my journey as well as the Elite four and former Champion Alder
I looked around and I spotted Alder and he walked over to me 

"Welcome to Unova Ash, how is it so far" He shook my hand 

I smiled "it's good and I've been training a ton"
"well you should be prepared he gave everyone he faced a run for their money and you should've seen how he took down the elite four"

My jaw dropped in pure shock 
"So you're saying, Shauntal, Grimsley, Caitlin, and Marshal was defeated so easily"
He nodded 
"But to be honest he has got some pretty good Pokemon, some are from other regions" He adds "Anyways, let's sit down by our table" he points to a table where calem was seated reading through menu

I take a seat on the opposite side of the table
"So how is it....being champion," he says not taking his eyes off the menu
I sighed
"It's great, being famous and all I makes me happy being champion of this amazing region and that I could inspire the next coming generation of Pokemon trainers" I smile taking a look at the menu

"Well I see the role of being champion different"
I look at him confused
"How do you see it then?"
He just chuckles "it's in a way you couldn't understand"

We kept chatting on until the former champion Alder took the stage and all the lights around us dimmed 
"Well Its gonna be a special day in Unova because on that day we are gonna decide who is going to become Champion of this spectacular region," 

The gym leaders and elite four cheered 

I clapped as well but when I turned to Calem he just scoffed and rolled his eyes 

"We have the Champion Ash Ketchum here" Alder spoke pointing at me 
And in an instant, all eyes were on me
I smiled nervously and waved at a couple of people 
"Come up then Ash, are you shy" Alder joked 
I hesitated got up and slowly walked over to the stage where Alder was standing 
And for once in a while, I felt nervous 

Alder wrapped his hand around my shoulder 
"So tell me, Champion what inspired you to become the wonderful trainer you are today" He handed me the microphone 
"It was my father actually, as you all know Red Ketchum was the Kanto Champion, and when I was just a little boy he always used to tell me a sentence, "Never give up till it's over" It was that sentence that made me the person I am now"
My mind flashbacked to the time he last said that to me, I was only 5 years old
It was the last thing he said to me before he died the next day from a car crash  

A tear fell from my eye and went to my cheek but I wiped it away before anyone could notice, I soon got control of myself before giving the mic back to Alder 
"Well that's gonna be a story for the ages" He chuckled

Two hours had passed and Alder had finished his long talk, a couple of gym leaders and elite four got up and spoke as well but it wasn't as long as Alder thankfully 

I went around the place and speaking with everyone here

and I bumped into my old traveling partner Cillan 
It had been so long since I met him and I felt really good that both he and Iris are doing fine after we parted ways 

Right now I was at the table sitting with Calem deciding on what I should eat 
I had my choice before Alder interrupted me before 
"So how is it with you and Serena," Calem asked abruptly 
"why do you wanna know," I said 
Calem looks at me and smirks 

"I just want to know if she is with the right man" 
I looked up at the menu and glared at him 
"Just so you know, she is doing perfectly fine and never once has she ever doubted our relationship," I said with a tone of anger 

Calem looks astonished but the smirk is still on his face 
"Well that is what you think when you go back to Kalos take a look at her and see"
he puts the pamphlet down and joins his fingers together "you don't deserve Serena and you never will" 

I grit my teeth and squeeze my fist getting ready to pounce 
"I thought this was in the past Calem, guess you still hold grudges 

you were too slow and now you lost her" I grinned 
"It was just luck why you got her, and when I destroy you in the battle and become Champion you'll see who lost her" he retorted 

I was getting annoyed by the second 
"Just face it, Ash,  you think you're the best there ever was, but soon just when you think your life is never better, it will be taken from you and the feeling of guilt and despair would take over you" he added 
I looked away "That'll never happen" 

"You'll see, its just a matter of time, and then Serena would leave you and come to me" He pours some champagne on my tuxedo on purpose making me mad
I snapped and got up and grabbed him by the collar making a big scene  
I rose my fist about to punch him but I turned to Cillan and Alder 

They nodded their heads "no"

I calmed down and let go of Calem
"Master are you alright," my butler Albert said 

I turned to him and smiled 

"I'm going back to the hotel, could you take me there," I asked 

He looked at me weirdly 
"but the party isn't over,-"
"I'm not in the mood, now take me home"

Albert and I walked over to the door and walked out of the restaurant 
Paparazzi, fans and the press surrounded the area but I ignored the ask for autographs and kept on walking to the Limo and stepped in

I got changed into just shorts and a shirt 
I slumped onto the bed and sighed 
"What if, Calem is right," 

His voice rang in my head
"its just a matter of time, and then Serena would leave you and come to me"

I sighed again and covered myself in bedsheets 
"That'll never happen"

"Right?"


I sorry I haven't updated this book in nearly a month It's just that I was focusing on special one more and school HW

anyways I'll see yall later
