A soft laugh echoed through the cold walls. The woman turned her head at the sound, as she had been sure she was alone. The woman stood up, her heels clicking softly on the stone floor as she walked to the door. Suddenly, the laugh echoed through the building once again, this time louder. Suddenly, the woman got a bad feeling. She quietly locked the door and grabbed her phone from her purse, dialing 911. As the operator asked for her emergency, she held the phone to her lips and whispered "Help". She then clicked end on the call and put her phone back.
Suddenly, a voice rang out. "I know I'm not aloneeee." A male voice taunted. The woman stood completely still, trying to calm her breathing. "I know you're in here somewhereeee." The man taunted again. The woman clutched her chest tightly, silently praying that he wouldn't find her. As silence fell, the woman's chest heaved, and she prayed she hadn't been found.

Billy picked up a doll off the ground, and chucked it into a bin. He was cleaning up Sally's old room, and he was running into a bunch of toys and such. He picked up more dolls from off the ground and chucked all of them into a bin that laid a few feet away. Billy sighed, wishing he could do something else. He wanted to go to college, but Papa was still saving up money for him, although Billy knew Papa would probably end up blowing it all off on something he didn't need. Billy was 21 now, and he knew college was long overdue, but he still wanted to go. Secretly, he would study by lamplight after Papa fell asleep. This of course resulted in Billy taking lots of daytime naps, but he knew it would all be worth it. He had been studying since he got out of high school, as Papa had let him go to high school but not college. Billy had studied for years by lamplight in the night, reading and reading in an attempt to get himself ready for when he did go to college. As Billy tossed away another doll, he heard the TV playing in the distance. He softly and quietly walked down the stairs, and glanced at the TV screen from his spot on the stairs. Once he saw the words 'Another murder' he quietly returned upstairs, not wanting to hear about yet another murder. There had been nearly 40 murders already, and this maniac hadn't even been killing for two months! Billy shook his head sadly as he unconsciously grabbed a book off of Sally's bedside drawer. He returned to his room and laid down to read, hoping that this nightmare could end.
