The Marie Family

I was never much for fairytales.

My friends always told me that Angels were real. I didn't believe them. But then the Marie Family arrived. The Marie Family was perfect. There wasn't any other way to explain it. They were incredibly beautiful. Not a scratch to be seen, not a scar to be found.

One rainy day, I walked to school, reluctantly tagging along with my friends, Bella and Marrek. We all had heard that a new family was arriving today, which I could only think of as odd, since it was merely the middle of the school year. Our town was not very populated. It never was. The town of Marks, Maine was a sunny place, but also quite stormy.

Today it was raining, but not too hard. The school seemed gloomy, like a haunted house. I hesitated at the door, but sighed and followed in.

Our class was brimming with talk about the Marie Family. I sat down, again quite reluctant. I looked at our brainy teacher, Mr. Chase.

"Today, class, we have a new student." Great. Just the words I wanted to hear. "Presenting Miss Angelica Marie." And then it struck me. Everyone gasped into a pile of whispers. She was, well, beautifully perfect.

"Hello," was all she said to make the class whisper even more. It was hard to explain, but her voice was like a chime. Like a melody we were caught into. It was magical, to say the least.

Angelica took a graceful bow and took a seat next to me. She looked over to me for a second, and then went back to looking at her desk.

I was confused, not only by her beauty, but by the way to looked at me. The emotion in her eyes, it seemed like fury. I was confused, did she hate me? But it was impossible, we'd never ever met.

Moving the thought out of my head, I headed to my other class. This was something to definitely sleep on.

But gym wasn't any different. I thought of her more than I thought I could. The look was so utterly confusing that my mind started to hurt thinking about it.

But I guess I had to. I would confront her tomorrow morning.
