wild goose chase
___________________While Anatalia hovered over Derek Hale for the third night since the incident with the alpha, Stiles Stilinski dragged Scott out late with the intention to get him to forget his breakup with Allison.
The lanky boy found a empty clearing, bottle of Jack Daniels in hand while Scott followed him out of the Jeep.
"What are we doing here?" The beta asked curiously, tomorrow's full moon already having a slight effect on him.
Stiles didn't look at him as he broke the seal on bottle, "Well, when your best friend gets dumped by his girlfriend-"
Scott cut him off hastily, denial dripping from his words. "She didn't break up with me. We're just on a break."
Stiles rolled his eyes, but corrects himself.
"Okay.. When your best friend is on a break with his girlfriend, and his cousin is in some sort of relationship with Derek Hale; you get him drunk."
While Stiles drank his problems away, Scott thought about the last 48 hours.
The alpha killed Derek, knocked his cousin unconscious, cornered everyone he cared about in the school, and forced himself into his mind.
He actually wanted to kill his pack that night; everyone but Anatalia.
What was the alpha's deal with the brunette?
Why was he so obsessed with her?
Stiles stayed laying on the grassy ground, staring up at the stars while Scott sat on the hood of the Jeep, listening to his drunk best friend slur, "Come on man, she's like- there's a million different- girls, in the sea.."
Scott rolled his eyes, "You mean fish?"
Groaning, Stiles shook his head and took another swig. "Fish? I wasn't talking about fish! I'm talking about girls! Man, I love girls. Especially ones 5'8, brown hair, hazel eyes, big, plump lips, soft, tan skin, really intimidating-"
Scott chuckled, knowing exactly who he was talking about, "Like Ana?"
Stiles propped himself onto his elbows, a dopey grin on his lips as he stared at Scott.
"Yeah! H-How did you know I was talking abo- what was I talking about?"
