What the heck is wrong with this forest?! Why are these wolves keep on popping everywhere?! I was about to go back but it was too late. The wolf turned to me with blood dripping from its snout. I slowly took a deep breath to calm myself.

Keep calm, Giselle. Think of something.

The wolf eyed me as it licks its face. My breath stuck on my throat as the wolf strode towards me. I literally froze. Is this how I die? Mom, dad, are we finally going to meet? The wolf growls as its fangs came in full view.

I shrieked when the wolf launched at me. It jumped right into my face and I watched how its mouth opened to pierce at me. I gasp in fear but someone pushed me aside causing me to stumble on the ground. I saw Alezzander push his right arm into the wolf's mouth. The wolf automatically locked its jaw to grip it. He raised his left hand and stabbed the wolf's neck with a table knife. The wolf wailed but didn't let go of his arm. He stabbed the wolf again and it didn't take long before the wolf hanged lifeless from his arm. He pulls his arm free from the wolf's fangs and turned to me. I shiver from the anger burning in his eyes.

I swallowed as he walked to me. For the second time, I want to run away. I am afraid of him. I am afraid of being close to him especially now that he's obviously angry. I tried to crawl away from him but he easily caught me and picked me by the waist.

"H... hey," I protest as he easily hauled me over his left shoulder. "Let me down!" I struggled against him.

"Stop struggling," he yelled.

I shiver at the thunder of his voice. It's a dangerous thunder like a devil's whisper. I stop struggling in fear. What have I put myself into? I should have listened to the elders. I shouldn't have walked through the forest. I shouldn't have been here. Please. Can someone save me?

He threw me at the couch as soon as we entered the living room of the castle. He sighed deeply, his hands on his hips.

"Are you stupid?" he whispered in between clenched teeth. "This forest is called Wolf's Den for a reason," he started yelling. "This is a hunting ground."

I held myself from cowering. He's voice is still full of anger and I'm still trying to control my fear. Come on Giselle. You're not a coward. Don't be one now.

I took a deep breath to summon all the strength left in me. I met his eyes and stood from the couch. "Don't yell at me! I didn't ask you to follow me so stop shouting like it's my fault."

"I just saved your life... again," he yelled. "Can you at least be a little grateful?"

I rolled my eyes. "Well, thank you young master," I said sarcastically.

He's eyes squinted and looked at me in disbelief. "You're impossible," he hissed in frustration.

"Alezzander,"

I jumped when Romeo suddenly appeared beside the couch. Seriously, he's starting to freak me out. He's holding a metal ball in his left hand.

"What?" Alezzander said in irritation.

The ball clicked when Romeo turned it in the middle. The two halves separated an inch away from each other, revealing another metal ball inside.

"I did what you asked me to," it was a male's voice coming from the ball.

My eyes widened. A magic ball. I read about it before. It says you can talk with anyone from anywhere using it. I never thought it really does exist.

"What the freaking hell?!" I tried to stand to take a look at the magic ball but Alezzander pushed me back to the couch. "It's a magic ball!"

"Shh..." Alezzander covered my mouth and glared at me as if in warning. The smell of blood invaded my senses. He's covering my mouth with his bleeding hand. Yuck. I shut my mouth tightly. I don't want to taste his blood.

"Is that a girl's voice?" the man from the magic ball asked curiously.

"Not important," Alezzander answered. "What is it?"

"The Elders are waiting for you. Aleah is getting impatient."

Alezzander sighed. "Alright. I'm coming home."

"Alright,"

Romeo pressed the ball together to close it.

I automatically pushed his hand away from my mouth and wiped his blood off my face.

"Gross! Wh... Whoa," He suddenly kneels in front of me and raises my left foot. "What the heck are you doing?" I froze when I saw blood stains on the bandage. My wounds must have opened when I ran.

"You're wounded Alezzander," Romeo said.

"I'm fine," he answered as he untied the bandage. "Get the first aid kit," he ordered.

Romeo slightly bowed before leaving us.

Alezzander's eyebrows furrowed as he continued removing the bandage.

"I'm fine," I said.

He glared at me before turning back to my wounded leg. Romeo came back with a box. He opened it and placed it beside Alezzander. Alezzander reached for cotton and a bottle of clear solvent. I bit my lower lip as I watched him clean my wounds. His arm is still dripping in blood and I feel guilty that he still chose to tend my wounds.

"I'm leaving for a few days," Alezzander said without looking up.

I turned to Romeo with frown. Is he talking to me?

"Behave and stay here," he glanced at me, his eyes full of warning.

I took a deep breath and shook my head. He is being nice but I can't just let him boss me around.

"I have to go home," I said firmly.

He glared at me.

"I have a life at home. Why would I stay here? We only just met Alezzander," I pointed out.

"It's safer for her to go home for the meantime," Romeo interrupted. "We don't want anyone to find out about her. At least not for now."

I frowned. What does that mean?

Alezzander sighed as he tied the bandage. Romeo started fixing the first aid kit.

"Fine. Send her home," Alezzander stood and walked away without glancing at me.

"Hey. Where are you going?" I yelled at him but he ignored me as he went out of the living room.

"What is wrong with him?" I frowned.

"Don't mind him," Romeo answered. "We have to get you home."
