You stepped into your room smiling a bit at the interior. It wasn't anything special, just a normal room. It was nice that you were able to land a job, especially one at the most prestine task force in the world.
A soft bed had sat nicely in the corner of the room, having a big metal dresser sit at the end of it. A big table had sat to the right of the bed and came with a hovering desk lamp that seemed to shine like a star in the night sky. On the desk laid a couple of hardback text books on various different medical supplies and how they worked, basic human anatomy, and various complex pshycology resources.
You took steps further into the room and plopped your backpack down onto the table alongside the books, with angelas words catching you offgaurd.
"Well (y/n), I will let you unpack and get things organized. Dont forget to study! Use those books I provided you to gain a better understanding of the position you're in."
"Of course! I'll start tonight."
Angelas eyes meeting yours, she noticed the happiness and eagerness within them to start and just grab a hold firmly of the opportunity she had provided you and not let go.
She smiled herself and began to turn back towards the hallway before she was stopped by an appreication, "Oh, Angela!"
She went motionless for a second and turned slightly to adjust herself to have you in her view.
"Thank you."
A second had passed as she processed the gratitude with a smirk "We are happy to have you here (y/n)."
Beginning to walk away she left your door open, letting you attend to your buisness as you turned and unzipped your backpack. You had brought some clothes from home that you thought would be necessary and put them in the dresser next to your bed. It wasn't much but, angela had spoke with you before you had showed up that she would provide the important clothes for the position, and that you wouldn't need much.
As you finally put the last of your clothes into your drawer, it was time for the books.
Working best under relaxation, you began to pull out your phone and put your music playlist on shuffle.
Vibing to a good song that you had started to get a liking of, you flipped to the first page and started reading.
That is until a knock on your open door had pierced the fiber of your eardrum.
Turning your head, you smiled when a familiar big white haired guy was cutting the entrance from your room to the hallway. He wore a white tank top that had exposed some white hair on his chest and the same rainbow colored dog tag from before. Scanning further down, his belt had tucked his tank top neatly in, holding up mold green army pants, and the look was finished with black steel toed boots. He stood tall leaning against your doorframe with crossed arms and legs with a gentle smirk on his face when he saw your face light up a little.
His eyes examining your figure as they had followed the outline of your body. The language his eyes had spoke were ones of sheer amazement.
"Well, hey there big guy!"
A low, muffled chuckle was hummed from behind his lips as he proceeded with the converstaion, "Hello there (y/n)."
His relaxed and gentle demeanor ment something more than just a subtle visit.
"So, how was your party?"
His head movements emphisized his adjective words in his upcoming sentence.
"It was amazing! I am very lucky to have such kind friends."
You smiled bigger and chuckled at his calm, warm tone and looked back down at your books trying to multitask between enjoying the music, studying, and trying not to get too flustered from the beefy guy to the right of you. "Well good, i'm happy!" You rang sounding cheery and gratefull.
"May i?"
Rein' untucked an arm out from his chest and gestured his hand to the bed asking for your permission to enter your room.
You looked back at his hand still smiling slightly, soon glancing back at the bed, "Of course!"
Now with your permission, rein' stepped in taking heavy footsteps towards your bed. He turned and sat down gently grabbing a hold of the bed frame and leaning out a bit in your direction out of curiosity.
"Tell me (y/n), How does a person of your stature and beauty, get placed here of all places?"
You closed your eyes and laughed a little showing your teeth as they glistened a little from the desk lamp. That had caught rein' a little off gaurd as his smirk grew a little bigger at the entrancing shine.
"Is it bad being here?" Your voice sarcastic yet, calmer than a soothing summers night. Your eyes rose a little in his direction as your sarcasm left him backfired.
"No, not at all! I am just curious is all!"
You chuckled a little bit, at his embarassed nature,"Rein' im just yankin' your chain..."
Your eyes had met your books again as your smile faded a tiny bit.
"...i'm actually happy i got this job. If it weren't for angela, i wouldn't have had a job in the first place..."
Reinhardt could tell that the mood had changed drastically just by the voice you had used. It had seemed normal and happy yet, it was subtley depressing and it had made all the difference.
Instead of asking what had upset you before with unintentional force, he took another route to ask with metephorical caution tape etched into the side of his words.
"Oh? May i ask what happened?" Reins face became curious as he leaned back onto the bed with his beefy arms supporting his upper body.
With your smirk glued on tight, you still managed to seem down.
"I, uh..i was fired from my last job because they were losing buisness and they were letting people go...so, during the time i was out of a job, i was desperatly calling out for other ones. Applying to different well paying office jobs..but, no one would hire me. I was living off of my last paycheck...One day, i thought i could just go for a coffee and relax before i start applying for more jobs, that is until angela came in. Being the caring person she is, she had seen my frustration and anger...she came up to me asking what was wrong. Explaining to her everything, she looked at me up and down, like she was a cop trying to figure out a suspect and said, "Do you have any experiance in the medical field?", I told her no....but, she wasn't giving up on me. She had saw something within me that apparently no other job hiring could. So she gave me a shot and now i'm here to be her new assistant. Helping her examine patients, handle her medical supplies, inventory, and...help her with medical examinations including surgeries."
Reinhardts eyes had lifted like a bird ascending from the ground. Angela was willing to give you such a huge position...with absolutley no knowledge of the field.
He glanced down at your books.
Essentials of General Surgery.
Medical Appliances and Items
Basic Human Psychology
"...and i am assuming that is why you have these books, right?"
You hid a tiny laugh behind your closed mouth and looked down at your books, realizing that studying was not going to be a walk in the park.
"Yup!"
Reinhardts face turned a little sadened by this knowledge, putting two-and-two together,"Ah...does this mean i should go?"
Looking back at reinhardt, you held your smile by a thread.
Your expression went softer at rein's downcast, seeing him upset was kind've upsetting you.
You took a moment to think about it, making faces of confusion at first. Now smiling bigger again and taking another look at his dog tag hanging happily on his neck, "No,... your absolutley fine big guy..."
His frown dissapeared as that warm kiddish smile from earlier had shown up, letting his mustache line his upper lip and his mouth wide open.
