I sat there and waited for him to arrive, I waited almost an hour. I was unable to stand because I was too overwhelmed with what I just overheard. It made my world come crashing down.

I curled up in a ball on the chair with my eyes sunken, inflamed with heat and covered by a film of salted water that trickled down my face. I've always tried to be good to him.

The sound of his footsteps alerted me to his presence behind the door when suddenly it swung open.

" You're a lying piece of shit," I spoke softly turning towards him. He screwed his face to query my language.

" I heard you speaking to Trae and Logan today by the lockers." I broke into tears unable to keep my calm " I heard everything you said about me! You know I thought you really loved me but it was all a lie huh? "

He spoke through his teeth "What do you mean, Imani? I do love you "

He came two steps closer to me but I urge him to stay away. I wanted him no way near me.

" I heard what you told them Cayden don't play stupid! I'm going to tell Coach Campbell that you've been doing drugs for spite. You son of a bitch." I shouted at him with everything that was dwelling inside of me.

I hit it on the mark, he would have gotten angry if I threaten to tell Coach Campbell about his extracurricular activities besides football.

Since it would mean he would be kicked off the team. I don't think that I might actually do it but I really wanted to hurt him also. The same way he did me. Before I could have untangled myself from the chair he reached for something at his side.

" Cayden no stop!" I manage to choke as I backed away from him slowly. His eyes were infuriated flaming red with malice. This wasn't the same guy that I knew, he wasn't the guy that I fell for.

" Did you ever even love me?" my lips quivered at the question in fear of his answer. I was dumb, how could I not see this coming? I backed straight into the dresser where the edge of it drilled into my body. I placed my fingers on my side to prop my rib cage, they were bruised and the hurt was radiating throughout my chest.

" Love you? please. You're a good for nothing bitch I won't lose one more breath on you, go if you want to I've won already!" he spat

" You're a real asshole you know!" I spew while I picked up the closest thing next to me and launched it frantically aimed at his head. I was fed up, everything he said to me was a lie and I felt worthless.

Stupid little girl.

When I ran out of things to throw he picked up a bat at the side of the chair and I darted out of the room.

"Quick Quick run Imani!" I chanted to myself and as if the universe gave up on me something came quick and hard slamming into my sides once again. I swore I heard my bones cracked. The last thing I saw before I closed my eyes were flashing red and blue lights igniting the midnight sky and the sound of piercing sirens were deafening.

" Sis wake up! Wake the hell up" Layla shouted while shaking the life out of me. I woke up disoriented from time and space, confused as to where was I.

My heart was pounding with fear, my skin was moist with cold sweat, and horror flicked through my eyes." You were having a bad dream Imani, you haven't had one of those in a while. What's going on ?" She continued.

I knew that I had a bad dream due to my body's response but sometime between me waking up and orientating my self, all my memories of the dream went away.

Ugh! It was frustrating not knowing what was in your head a minute ago. " Lay I don't remember any of it. I only knew that I was scared." I spoke to my sister while calming myself. She looked at me concerned so I had to assure her that I was now ok.
