"LOKI ODINSON! THAT IS THE LAST TIME!"
Odin's voice boomed down the grand halls of the palace, reaching the hidden prince. Loki flinches as his childish grin fades away, as he realised he was in major trouble. Loud and thunderous footsteps kicked off the commotion and Loki decided it was time to flee.
He sped down the wide corridors and briefly paused outside his brother, Thor's room. The door swung open and a handsome face with wavy golden locks appeared; eyes half-lidded with sleep.
"What now, brother?" Thor grumbled lowly, glancing down the corridor at the approaching guards.
"Oh, nothing of much interest." Loki spoke quickly, running a sweaty palm through his raven hair. "Although I really must dash. We have company!" He practically shouted the last word from the end of the corridor as he ran.
Bursting out into the cobbled courtyard, Loki swiftly dodged the few people who were up at this hour. Mainly Asgardian drunks. He ignored the angry shouts and one weird cat-calls, his deep green cape billowing behind him. Pivoting round a corner, Loki now faced the rainbow road. He fled down it, realising that he was cornered as he ran.
"Heimdall!" Loki called out, running full-pelt at the muscular, armour clad man before him. His voice came out like a weak cry for help. Heimdall merely raised his eyebrow skeptically whilst Loki skidded to a halt and glance behind him.
"Heimdall, please. I beg of you. Help me! My father..." Loki panted, his hands resting on his knees. The guards were halfway down the rainbow road and gaining quickly. Heimdall just stood calmly, his posture faultless, and stared at the oncoming squadron emotionlessly.
"I have aided you too many times before. Deal with this issue yourself." Heimdall stated flatly. Loki straightened and glared, wide-eyed, at him in disbelief. Before he could utter a word, the palace guards arrived and two gripped Loki in a tight restraint. He kicked at them, to no avail. Then, through a parting in the guards, Odin arrived. Thor followed close behind.
"Loki Odinson." Odin rose to his full height, towering slightly over the restrained teenager. "This is the last time you will ever mess with my dealings. I have relented before but you know not of the embarrassment your...follies cause me." He spoke with passive aggressiveness that made Loki shiver.
"Father, may I-"
"No. You may not, Loki. You and your ignorant games are not amusing and I speak for all of Asgard when I say we have had enough. You listened not when I warned you before, so face the consequences." Odin nodded to the two guards, and then to Heimdall, who still stood, passively observing.
"Cast him out."
"FATHER, NO!" Loki screamed at the top of his lungs, as he was dragged away to the portals. Thor quickly stepped forward.
"Father. I suggest you reconsider." He said calmly, looking at his father expectantly.
"Thor. I suggest you stay quiet or you shall be next." Odin stated in a monotone which quickly silenced Thor.
Loki kicked and twisted and cried out for mercy, to no avail. He was forced to his knees, sobbing weakly.
"Please. Heimdall. Do not do this. Please." He whimpers but no one listened. No one looked at him. No one dared. Loki just cried out to anyone and everyone; silent cries that no one heard.
Thor watches on in pain as his helpless brother had his memory wiped clean of all memories, thoughts, feelings; everything he knows. Even his own name. His heart broke in two as the last thing he saw was the sheer confusion on Loki's face before he was projected onto Midgard. A single tear fell as he realised Loki would never again know who Thor was. Never again know Asgard existed. It was only an hour later that Thor was on his own, crying quietly and still staring at where Loki had last been. Taking a shaky breath, Thor composed himself and, finally, left.
