"One espresso, to go please."

one espresso, coming right up...

"Hey, lady! I said I refuse to pay that price!"

i'm sorry, that's the cost of two milkshakes and a muffin...

"Are you paying attention?"

no

"Do you have any special offers?"

this isn't target...

Naia sighed to herself as she flopped onto her bed, tired out after a long day of work. Don't get her wrong, she loved her job sometimes, but most of the time it was filled with annoying customers who demanded everything under the sun in a short space of time with as little price as possible.

Her smile was beginning to show cracks.

Most of the money she made was stored away, saved for something she didn't quite know what for yet. Maybe to travel, a house, a car, she hadn't decided.

Her job in a small seaside café in Hawaii was one she couldn't see herself not doing. It seemed to be where she belonged but also where she most wanted to be.

She wrote a little bit on the side, little collections, extracts from books she'll never have the time to fully commit to, but they're good. Naia will never have the courage to post them on her own.

She was fresh out of College in Texas and moved west in search of something new and fresh and exciting. She wanted a journey, but she also wanted somewhere to love fiercely and call home.

Naia was tired of growing up in the same place, where everyone knew everyone else and all their details. She didn't want to be like that, but she hadn't found the place she wanted to stay in just yet.

So, for now, in a place she likes, she'll stay put.

The girl was so exhausted she fell asleep pretty much as soon as her eyes shut. Today had been a full day with little time to do anything, she was happy tomorrow she only had one shift.
