The library was silent, as if in shock at the brutality of the once harmless girl. Tasha was also unable to comprehend what she had just done. As the adrenaline wore off, so too did her grip on the dagger and it fell beside her; the metal making an innocent tinkling noise against the stone floor. Suddenly she found herself unable to breathe and she coughed up crimson and struggled to avoid choke on her own blood. In a gruesome and beautiful arch blood was curling around her and matting her hair into scarlet clumps. In her peripheral vision, she dully noticed that the pool she was lying in was rapidly growing. With that she lost consciousness.
When she opened her eyes again Epsilon was above her, silently weeping. The blonde put her hand on the nagas cheek, brushing away the silvery tears that were creeping away.
"I told you." She coughed and left droplets of blood staining her lips. "It couldn’t get worse, didn't I?" Epsilon leaned down and kissed her delicately, as though she was as fragile as sugar glass.
"How is this better, my flower?" Epsilon croaked in a brittle voice, letting tears stream freely.
"Now I know..." Tasha trailed off as she gingerly wiped away his tears. "I’ll always know that..." She wheezed and coughed up more blood and struggled to get out her last, strangled words. "I know that you'll be safe forever." She brushed her thumb over one last tear, before her body went limp and her eyes became glazed over, losing the light that existed as stars in her eyes.
