Silver opened her eyes to her balcony doors open and light poured into her room. A shadow was cast on her face by a dragon, a pure white dragon to be exact.
"Why didn't you invite me?"Shard asked. Wolf peeked out from behind his sister with a sorry look on his face.
Silver shoved the pale blue blanket off of her and stood up."You seemed perfectly fine with Blizzard, and I guessed he would invite you."She shrugged.
Shard's eyes seemed to be two orbs of fire."You didn't invite me, that is what I'm mad about."She flicked a wing at Wolf."Instead you invited him."
Silver walked over to her desk and dipped her silver and white claw into blue ink."Well, you two are going to together."She started writing a list of things to bring."So, I suggest you two start packing."
Wolf nodded."Yeah, Shard. Why don't you go and pack with Blizzard?"
Shard glared at him."I will, at least he cares about me."She swept out of the room and lifted off into the sky towards the courtyard.
"So, what are you bringing?"Wolf asked, peeking over her shoulder.
Silver shoved his face away."Some animus touched jewelry, scrolls and animus touched inkwells."She looked over her list, and added one thing."So, what are you brining?"She asked, walking over to a slot in the wall for a chest.
Wolf looked at the ground and drummed his claws on the ice."Well, I don't own anything except that armband from last night and maybe a scroll or two."
Silver stopped pulling out the chest."Well then, I guess I could share my animus touched jewelry." She pulled out the chest and set it on the ground. Silver went over to her chest of jewelry and pulled out her animus touched jewelry chest and set it on the ground beside her other chest."You can choose one or two of my enchanted jewelry."
Wolf opened the small chest and lifted out a pair of black earrings."What are these enchanted with?"
Silver looked at the earrings, then raced over to her scroll block. She pulled out a scroll titled 'My Animus Objects'. She scanned through it until she found the black earrings enchantment."It says that the earrings heal anyone who puts them on."
Wolf clipped them on and looked at her."How do I look?"He asked, spreading his wings.
"Like a prince,"she said, pulling out an armband, four bracelets, a necklace, and the other pair of earrings.
He laughed and went over to her mini library."What scrolls are you bringing?"He asked.
Silver looked up from where she was packing."The one on royals and the one on the other tribes, also a blank scroll."
Wolf grabbed the scrolls and went over to her desk."What inkwells are you bringing?"He asked.
"The blue one and the green one."
He grabbed the inkwells and brought them and the scrolls to her. He set them down beside Silver's chest and she packed them away. She looked out the window and saw dragons flying by towards the courtyard.
"We better start heading out,"she said, closing the chest and carried it to the balcony.
Wolf came up behind her."How long are we staying?"He asked.
Silver shrugged."Mother said something about staying for a week to get more allies."
He nodded and launched into the sky, she followed with her chest close to her body. They landed in the courtyard and saw all of the IceWings there.
They were all part of the royal family. She saw Opal, Polar, Shard, Blizzard, her mother, Shiver, Platinum, Orca and Esker. Shard and Opal stood out among the pale blue and silver scales of their peers.
Platinum saw her and bounded up to her, his silver scales were set off by the pitch black diamonds and the red rubies he wore around his neck and arms. His face always had a grin that all of the female IceWings fell for, but not Silver."Hey,"he said, flicking his wings back and lifting his snout.
Silver glared at him."Go away, Platinum. Your 'charm' won't work on me."
Platinum laughed."Oh, it won't."He hid his face behind his wings, then opened them with a different face on."How about now?"
"No, never. You are the worst,"she growled, shoving him out of the way.
Opal caught her eye and sauntered up to her."How could you turn him down? He is the most handsome IceWing in all of Pyrrhia."
Silver snorted."That dragon? Why? He is a self centered son of a walrus."
Opal glared at her."Just because you aren't pretty doesn't mean that you can-"
"What is going on over here?"Asked Iceshine.
Her two daughters looked at her in shock. Did she hear the whole conversation? Silver wondered.
Opal pointed at Silver."She started it!"Then ran off to Polar.
Iceshine glared at her daughter."Started what?"She asked.
Silver looked at her claws."I said that Platinum was the worst."
Her mother lifted her daughter's chin and looked her in the eye."You are entitled to your own opinion."She looked over at where Opal was."I need to talk with your sister."
Silver watched her go, and Platinum came up behind her."So, you want to go for a short-"
She turned around and hit Platinum right on the snout with her talon."No."
Platinum stumbled back, clutching his snout."Crazy dragon,"he said through his talon.
Wolf came up to her when Platinum was gone."Wow, I didn't think you would do that."
Silver shook out her talon."And that will happen to you if you tell anyone."
He nodded and produced an ice bowl full of seal, fish, and whale from behind his wing."The servants were handing out these snacks for the road and I grabbed one for you."He looked in it."Even though you don't like fish, or whale."
"Well then, you can have everything but the seal,"she said, reaching into the bowl and pulling out a strip of seal, and together they finished off the bowl.
"IceWings, it is time that this wing heads to the Kingdom of Sand!"Iceshine called from the sky.
Silver, white and pale blue IceWings lifted into the sky to their queen. Wolf and Silver followed as the flurry of wings died down.
Queen Iceshine flicked her tail and flew away with the chosen IceWings following.
