(AN: Colton above, btw can we talk about how cute Dylan O'Brien is)

For the rest of the time we had before work, we drove around and laughed at each other. She offered to go stop by my house so that I could get my work uniform and I agreed. We pulled up to my apartment and I hopped out and headed upstairs.

It was a good thing my parents weren't home, I quickly got changed and went back down stairs to meet Mila. She honked at me when she saw which made a grin spread on my face. "Ready to die of heat stroke?" she asked as we headed to the cinema.

"Ready as always," I pulled the car mirror down and fixed my artificial dyed hair into a messy ponytail. I was basically the queen of having messy hair styles.

"We might work inside today," she suggested trying to be optimistic. Mila reached to turn up the music up and dance to it, which earned her an eye roll from me. Not much later, we pulled into the parking lot next to the cinema. Laughing over something Mila said, we got out and headed in side. It wasn't quite as hot today as it was yesterday.

Walking inside, our manager informed us that we didn't have to work outside today selling tickets in the booth. When he turned around, Mila and I looked at each other and we had the same expression. She pumped her fist like she just won a prize.

Two other people were going to be stuck in the heat selling tickets and I felt bad. But only a little bit. I headed over to the counter to take position near the popcorn machine and Mila took place at the register. For a couple of hours, I sat there filling the paper bags with popcorn. There was a lot of people today and a line started to form. Time seemed to fly by today and pretty soon it was dark outside.

Mila and I decided to switch positions. Now I had to take the orders and she had to get the food and drinks. Luke, one of our coworkers was busy helping a customer at the other register and he seemed to be a little stressed. He had been talking to the same lady for the past five minutes. I got Mila's attention and jerked my head to Luke. He ran a hand through his curly blonde hair and Mila headed over there to help the situation. I almost had the urge to laugh as I watched them talk to the lady who was having the issue.

Turning back to the next customer in line, I recognized him immediately. It was the brown haired boy who was the cashier I had talked to only a few days ago at the market. But instead of wearing his cashier uniform, he was wearing a long white shirt and a gray beanie. I still didn't know his name.

"Well, if it isn't the mind reader," I said playfully.

"We meet again."

"What would you like?" I asked as my eyes flickered over to Mila who was now talking to the lady at the other cash register. She seemed to be calming down a bit.

"Just a sprite," He pushed his glasses back up the bridge of his nose.

"Just a sprite?" I repeated back to him in a question. "No popcorn?"

"Just a sprite," he said once more with a beaming smile.

"I hope you were planning on leaving a tip," I teased.

Mila came over to us after a moment. "God, that lady was such a b-," she cut herself off and looked at beanie boy, "Hey Colton," she smiled friendly.

Colton, that was his name. "Hey."

"He wants just a drink," I informed her.

She made a face, "Who comes to the movies and just buys a drink?"

"A lot of people actually," Colton defended.

"Yeah, okay," Mila said as she pulled out a large cup and walked over to the fountain, "What drink do you want, twinkle toes?"

"He wants sprite," I told her and she filled it. Turning back to Colton, I raised an eyebrow, "twinkle toes?"

He shrugged his shoulder, "I don't even know."

I looked at him for a second and there was a pause of silence, "Why are you wearing a beanie and long sleeved shirt? It's like 85 degrees outside."

"Ever hear of a bad hair day?" he question as Mila put the drink in front of him.

"I'm not familiar," I said faking a thinking face, "Never had one."

"Lucky you," Mila chimed in while walking back to the popcorn machine.

Colton pulled a black leather wallet from his back pocket and pulled out cash. Handing him the drink, I took the money and put it in the cash register.

"See you around," he pulled the cup to his lips and took a swig. Turning around to walk away, he then stopped. "Oh, I almost forgot." His hand went back to his wallet and he shoved some money into the tip jar.

I smiled as he walked away. "Wow, you guys were flirting hard core," Mila interrupted.

My face contorted into a weird face, "No we weren't, we were just talking."

"Just talking," she mimicked after me, "If you weren't flirting, then why would he leave a ten dollar tip?"

"He was just being nice," I suggested with a shrug while I restocked the candy on the counter.

"Did you have any classes with him last year?" she asked. Mila went to Lankton with us but I only ever had one class with her while was freshman year. She sat diagonally from me in Mr. Rightson's algebra honors class. Honestly, I never really noticed her until we started working here together. It was probably the same for Mila, I don't think she even talked to me before then.

"Nope," I replied.

"I did," her back leaned up against the counter and she looks at me. "He never really talked so I'm surprised he actually held a decent conversation with you."

Putting more napkins on the counter to keep my hands busy, I said, "I never really talked anyone either."

"Yes, but he's different, a hard core introvert."

"So?"

"All I'm saying is that if he actually talked to you which means he thinks you're worth it," Mila defended her point of view.

"Or maybe he just wanted to make friends," I rolled my eyes and then glanced at Luke. He was currently holding a bag of popcorn filled to the top.

"Maybe," Mila finally agreed but there was doubt in her voice. I continued to take some order for the new coming customer in line. The orders consisted of the usual, a drink, popcorn, and occasionally candy.

"So, do you want me to drive you home?" she offered. I nodded a yes and after our shift, we got into her car.

"Call me if you need to stay the night again," she says as we pull up to my place. I thanked her when I opened the door and stepped out into the night.
