Authors Note

Sorry to those who are reading for the extremely long update, I completely forgot about writing it, but I've found it again!

Anyway, I do not own Kingdom Hearts, I only own my OC Marxie, her three children and the pets.

The World That Never Was

*No POV*

Braig stared up at Ansem, his eye twitching as once again he and Isa got a lecture about something that was wrong. That was even their fault in the first place... The one eyed man looked to the side as the silverette finally shut up and started walking off.

"Ungrateful bastard..." Braig said through clenched teeth. Isa sighed and looked to the floor.

"Superior can be quite harsh when he wants to be." He said softly.

"When he wants to be?!" Braig exploded. "He's always on our f*cking case and you know what? I'm sick of it." Isa glanced at the elder man and saw him frown, his one yellow eye narrowing. He raised his hand, his index finger and thumb placed with a small gap between them. "I'm this close to f*cking shooting the guy." Isa shook his head and looked to the floor again. By now the two had started to make their way down the hall.

"Well, he is trying his hardest." The blunette nodded slowly.

"With what?" Braig protested. "With standing on his own to feet for once? Having to fight for his own without a little legion of monkeys behind him? If you ask me, he's just pissing me off." Braig sighed deeply and shook his head. "I just wanna get this shit over and done with, ya know? It's boring in this place nowadays."

"I understand how you feel, Braig, but we have no other choice but to listen to Superior. Even if it means sacrificing our old lives." Isa looked to the floor. He knew how it felt to leave behind his old life. His home, family. Friends... The blunette shook his head and looked out to the corridor ahead of him. He didn't have time to think about such things, about things he'd never need again.

"I know, I know. I've heard it enough times from the guy himself." Braig looked at Isa and grinned. "Don't ya just wish you could go back home. Even for a couple minutes. See everyone again?" Isa lowered his head. He did, but he didn't want to admit it. He didn't want to submit to being alone and afraid. He just wanted... He didn't even know.

Destiny Islands

"Junior! Junior stop please!" Marxie called as Junior started to run off ahead of her. She could only go so quickly and seeing as Axel wasn't moving too quickly, her normal pace was even slower today. Junior looked back at his Mother and stopped, waiting for her to catch up. She walked up by his side and held out her free hand, and Junior took it, beginning to walk at his Mother's pace. He begun reaching out for Axel as the scruffy dog started walking over to him, sniffing his feet making Junior giggle. Marxie smiled. Having not a lot to do while Myde was at work and the Twins at school, having a nice day like today really helped. Junior started to tug lightly on Marxie's hand as the park began to get into view. Marxie started to quicken her pace, though Axel thought different and started walking off in another direction. She pulled on his lead gently, begging him to follow in the direction Junior was so persistent to go in. Being pulled by either end, Marxie had to decide whether to let go of Junior or continue to struggle. She pulled harder on Axel's lead, calling his name as the dog continued to pull.

"Axel! Come on." Marxie resisted and started following the dog, pulling Junior along with her. Junior whined as he began to get further and further away from his required destination and his lip started to quiver. Marxie frowned at the dog and stopped altogether, making Axel pull harder. She pulled hard on his lead, pulling the canine back and next to her. "Now stop it." She told him firmly and he almost hung his head in shame, his tail between his legs as Junior began leading them back to the park. They finally reached the park and Junior immediately ran over to the slide where other children were playing. Marxie smiled and although she wanted to go in there with him, she couldn't. She looked down at Axel and sighed. She couldn't tie him up either, he'd just bark at passers by. So she had to watch him from the closest place on the other side of the fencing. But he didn't mind. He was mature enough for his age, which surprised Marxie. She leant on the fence, smiling as the small boy repeatedly circled the slide he was occupying. Axel sat by her side, looking back and forth at the passing people, his tail softly wagging as he watched the park birds waddle past. He gave up and started laying down, watching sadly as Marxie waved over at Junior. Suddenly his ears perked up and he watched as something ran past. Standing slowly, the scruffy dog started walking in the direction it went in only to stop as he came to the end of his lead. He looked up at Marxie and back in his required direction. He reared onto his back legs and barked, catching Marxie's attention. She frowned down at him and crouched to his level.
