Chapter 3
Cutiepie's POV
My breath came in short gasps. I was so exhausted from running. I was tired and smelly and had yet to find Felix. Finding the eight pages wasn't especially easy. If I was correct, we only needed 4 more pages unless Felix had found another one. Where had I yet to look? The building was already cleared which was a big relief. I did not want to have to go through that again. All I could do now was to keep walking and hope that I'd bump into Felix soon.
As I kept walking I thought to myself how Felix and I possibly got into this situation. How were we transported here? It didn't make sense. In a way I believe I am dreaming, but then Felix, the real live one, is here with me. Would we wake up as soon as we collected all of the pages, or would we suffer a horrible fate? I could not distinguish reality. It's strange when you find yourself in a situation in which you don't know whether it's happening or not. Maybe I secretly had a twisted sense of imagination. Whatever was happening, I hope I just woke up from it.
A horrible stench suddenly hit me. It was even worse than how I was smelling right now. It smelled of...death. That's the only word I could describe it with. There was no fuzzy feeling but I knew that the smell represented Slenderman's desire to kill us. Slenderman may not be near me but he is most likely near Felix. Felix was the one who did have most of the pages. Where could he be? I needed to find a way to find Felix so we could escape. I turned around and started walking the way I came from. Felix is probably looking for me which means he likely ran in the direction of my screams when I saw the pugs. I didn't want to go through the forest of body parts again so I began to go around it. I could tell I was on the edge for I could see the body parts laying un-animated on the floor.
Going back would be the only way to find Felix. If I were to not make it, I would want Felix to continue on without me. I swallowed thickly. Hopefully that would not be the case.
Pewdiepie's POV
Slenderman was still after me. I was straining all my efforts to not look back. My sprint had turned into a jog as the forest began to grow thicker, and I had begun loosing hope. I had only been able to beat this game only once, and even then it was from the other side of a computer screen. I was safe there. Here, it was real. There was no other explanation. It just had to be real. The thought was still processing in my head when I felt a hand go around my ankle.
I tripped and landed face first into a pile of bloody, dismembered body parts. Disgusted, I wiped the blood off my face and turned to see a page almost perfectly hidden between large rocks. Without thinking twice I ran towards the rocks. As I snatched it from its place, I sensed Slenderman behind me. I was paralyzed with fear. There was no way he would be able to get me from this angle, but it was terrifying to know how close he was.
After waiting for who knows how long, I finally got myself to move. Still facing the wall I moved horizontally around the rock. When it felt clear I ran to try and distract him for a while so it could give Marzia and I more time to find the pages. I ran for a while with Slenderman on my trail. It went on for a while and I knew I could not outrun him forever. How much more until all the pages were found?
I could not keep up the pace I was going at so I slowed down. I was losing faith at this point that we would get out of this game. I knew this wasn't smart but if slenderman caught me now I at least want Marzia to survive this ordeal; I began to shout, "Marzia! Marzia if you can hear me I am going to leave the pages here! Marzia! Marzia!" I took the pages that I had while still walking at a fast pace, and looked for a nearby spot to place them. I had just found the perfect spot to place them when I heard a familiar sound.
I turned my head slightly towards the sound of barking dogs. I headed towards my right with a feeling that if I followed the sound I would meet up with Marzia. I quickened my pace a bit. Slenderman was behind me about 20 feet or less away. After a few minutes the barking stopped but I still went into the direction of the barking. I soon came upon two walls that crossed to split into form parts. There was no page on one side. I made my way to another side but there was nothing. I had been too busy looking for the page that I lost track of Slender's location.
I hesitantly went to the third side. What I saw next shocked me so much that I when I opened my mouth to scream, no sound came out.
Cutiepie's POV
I was a little lost at where to go at this point. I had been walking for a while and I realized I was going in circles. I knew Slenderman was following Felix because I had not felt his presence in a while. It was then that I decided to go a different direction. Felix most likely found more pages. The question was, where was he? In order to defeat the game I guessed that we needed the pages to be together.
From the corner of my eye I saw a faint light source that looked promising. I started walking towards it hoping to find a page. When I got closer, whatever was projecting the light stopped. I continued walking having a feeling that I would find a page there. I hadn't felt the cold until now, making me wrap my arms around myself. Finally I reached what appeared to have been the source of the light. An old truck, difficult to distinguish the color under the moonlight, rested in between a clear path. With a surge of confidence I circled the truck successfully finding a page.
Making up my mind, I decided to follow the path to see if it would lead me to either a page or Felix. I encountered the tunnel but there were no pages. Frustrated, I picked up my pace finding some wooden poles sticking up from the ground. By the time I reached this location I could feel Slenderman's presence. The page was easy enough to find. As soon as I grabbed it there was an intense pain in my head. Straight ahead of me I saw him, but I was able to wrench my gaze away before it was too late. Running back to the path with a vigor, I saw a brick wall connected with another one. Knowing that his presence must mean we were close to finding the last of the pages, I sprinted to this location knowing that this is where the last page is. I did not get very far and I saw Slender in my peripheral vision. I stopped in my tracks turning away. I was so close. I turned slightly and saw Felix within reach of the page, but with a pained expression on his face. I opened my mouth to call him when Slenderman appeared just a few feet in front of me.
Pewdiepie's POV
In front of me lay the mangled body of my dear Marzia. Her body was slumped over with her hair covering her face. I was devastated. I had failed Marzia and now even if I was able to escape this place I did not want to. I would let Slenderman take me.
I was about to approach her when I felt his presence. I did nothing knowing that he would come for me. When nothing happened for a couple of moments I turned back to meet his stare. What I was faced with was something very different. Slenderman was facing a very live Marzia who was as white as a sheet. I realized I had been tricked.
Marzia spoke softly, but I understood that she called my name. I needed to get that last page. I turned to see it within my reach. I stretched out my hand to grab it but he turned his stare on me. I was compelled by his stare despite how draining it was. Arm still outstretched, I felt my energy being drained from me.
"Felix, wake up!" I heard Marzia yell.
"Felix!" She cried out again.
With what little willpower I had left, I managed to reach the rest of the way and grab the page before collapsing to the ground.
I felt someone next to me before I completely blacked out.
