I own none of this, Marvel owns everything except Tara.

Chapter One

"Peggy... Are you sure you want me to take this one?"

She rolls her eyes, "One hundred percent Tara. You're better and you haven't had a decent assignment in months."

"You're sure?"

"Tara." She puts her arms on my shoulders, and I stare into my twin sister's eyes. We're not identical by any means. Well, we have the same dark hair and eyes.

Yeah, twin sister. That's what the world thinks.

"I'm sure. You deserve this so much more than I do."

"But they asked for you!"

"It was probably an accident. Everyone knows you're better at everything."

There's a reason I'm better.

I shake my head, "I'm not better at being nice. You have no idea how much I appreciate this Peg."

She smiles, "I know. Now go suit up! You have a supervising job to get to!"

I smile and nod, it's go time.

"Recruits, attention!" I call to the new line of army recruits. They snap to attention as I walk up to them.

"Gentlemen I'm Agent Carter. I supervise all operations for this division."

"What's with the accent Queen Victoria?" One of the men asks me. I sigh inwardly, typical Americans, can't hold their tongues. "I thought I was signing up for the US Army."

"What's your name soldier?"

"Gilmore Hodge your majesty."

"Step forward Hodge," I command. He steps out in front of me. "Put your right foot forward."

He does as I tell him. "Thinking of Rasa? Cause I got a few moves I know you'll like."

Before he can say another word I punch him, as hard as I can, in the face.

"Agent Carter."

A smug smile plays on my face as I turn to face the speaker.

"Colonel Phillips," I say, trying to hold back a smile.

"I can see that you are breaking in the candidates. That's good. Get your ass up out of the dirt and stand in that at attention until somebody comes and tells you what to do," he orders Hodge.

"Yes sir!" Hodge replies.

"General Patton has said that wars are fought with weapons, but they are won by men," Phillips continues. "We are going to win this war because we have the best men..." He stutters a little at men, and my eyes follow his. I raise my eyebrows when I see the boy he's standing in front of. He's a tiny little thing, I could probably bench press him with my eyes closed.

"And because they are gonna get better... much better. The strategic scientific reserve is an allied effort made up of the bests minds in the free world. Our goal is to create the best army in history. But every army starts with one man. And at the end of this week, we will choose that man. He will be the first in a new breed of super soldier. And they will personally escort Adolf Hitler to the gates of hell."

Another smile forms on my face at that. Oh how I'd love to see Hitler in hell after all him and his Hydra division have done to me and my people.

If Peggy knew about that she would have never let me take this assignment.
