{Chapter 3}

The ride to the elementary school was ok. It was the convorsation that bothered me.

"Ya know, I don't mind if you like someone else." he said with a slight sigh. "I know, its just that I need time." I said, "Why are you saying that anyways? Do you really expect me to be like one of those girls that breaks up with one guy and goes to another instantly? I didn't even break up with you, you broke up me!!!" "thats not what I meant, I..." He said, but I interupted him before he could finish. I could feel my face turn red. "Thats obviously what you implied!" "I'm sorry that you took it that way." He some-what screamed back. "Well then what did you mean?!?"I grumped. I could feel my face turn from fire into flames. "I love you." He said sheepishly "You what?"

I clearly understood what he said, but thankfully my steaming red face of fury covered up the blush deep down under. "I love you, and I regret ever leaving you I was stupid. I cared more about myself than I cared about you." He said, I could feel my face go from fury to a blank expression. "Oh." What else was I supposed to say?

He broke up with me because he felt his swim team was interfearing, so instead of ditching his favorite sport, he left me broken. Ever since then we've been best friends but we could never go back to being as close as we were.

The rest of the ride was quiet and even though Danny was there with me it seemed lonely. I can't beleive I just got into a fight with my best friend! All he was trying to tell me in the first place was that he loved me. I felt really bad about myself, could I possibly lose him as a friend? The though haunted me intill we finally got to the school.

When he parked I sat there looking at him wondering what to say. Usually we would hug, but obviously now was not the time. He gave me a simple nod of his head, I guess that was my sign to go. As I exited the car I looked at him and said "I love you too." and shut the car door.
