Chapter 30

Ding. My phone went off as I was walking towards the amphitheatre where they practice fencing.

From: Ben

We have a situation. Meet me ASAP.

To: Ben

I'll be there soon.

To: Jay 😍

Ben just texted about an emergency. I'll talk to you soon. I love you.

I headed over to Ben's office, which wasn't too far from where I was. I stormed upstairs, not caring that I wasn't dressed for a meeting.

"What is the emergency?" I asked, walking into his office.

"We can't figure out which kids to bring from the Isle," Ben said. I took notice of Evie and Mal for the first time.

"Dizzy is a given," I said. "What about Hade or Hadyn?"

"Who are they?" He asked.

"Hades kids," I said.

"Hade is too much like Uma. Hadyn is a maybe," Mal said.

"We were thinking, maybe you could help since you've been on the Isle," Ben said.

"They grew up there," I said.

"You have the most experience with both," Mal said.

Ding. My phone went off again.

From: Jay 😍

Everything okay?

"Put your phone down and help. I have to get this figured out by tomorrow," Ben said.

"I'm sorry, it was Jay," I said.

"Tell him to come over. Maybe he can help too," Ben said.

To: Jay 😍

Come to Ben's office please

It didn't take Jay more than thirty seconds to respond.

"What about Dr. Facilier's son?" I asked.

"Lee?" Mal and Evie asked in unison.

"Isn't he like 14?" Evie asked.

"It was just a suggestion. Besides, how old is Dizzy?" I asked.

"15," she said.

"So Lee is a maybe also," Ben said. "We have to fill four spots. Two boys and two girls. Dizzy is a given. There is only one more vacant dorm room on each side of the hall."

"So, what if we brought Lee and Hadyn because they are about the same age," Mal said.

"I think they're actually really close," I said.

"Who's really close?" Jay asked walking in.

"Lee and Hadyn," I said.

"Practically brothers, and both are 15," he said.

"Does Dizzy have any friends she's super close with?" Ben asked.

"Maybe having a friend will help her out," I said.

"Just me," Evie said. "And a cousin, Asia."

"Asia?" I asked.

"She's the same age as Dizzy. She's just super small for her age. She hides away in the back. I've only met her once," Evie said.

"When are we sending for them?" Jay asked.

"Tomorrow if possible," Ben said. "I want to get this rolling again."

"What if Jay and Evie went to the Isle and got them?" I asked.

"Do you think it'd be easier for them?" Ben asked.

"I know Hadyn wanted to be Jay when I was there," I said.

"Lee was like a little brother to me before he got dragged to Uma's group," Jay said.

"And Dizzy is like my little sister. She's the only one who ever really talks to Asia. I think that might make them more comfortable," Evie said.

"We were 16 when we left. We have to keep in mind that they're only 15," Mal said. "It might not seem like much, but that one year can make a world of difference."

"So it's decided. Asia, Dizzy, Lee, and Hadyn," Ben said.

"Children of Anastasia, Drizella, Dr. Facilier, and Hades respectively," I said.

"I will send this in immediately and hopefully we can send for them either tomorrow or Wednesday," Ben said.
