SAFAA'S POV
Today, Mama, Baba, Sameed, Ariana and I are going to go meet my Dadi (Father's mother). She is actually Uncle Haseeb's mother but she treats my father like her biological son. She's one of the most sweetest human being I've ever known. Currently, her health hasn't been too well, so Mama thought it would be good to go and meet her. She lives with Uncle Hasib and Aunt Amina. I'm really looking forward to meeting Dadi after such a long time but, I'll also have to see that stupid Ayaan's face again. Why is he related to us?"Hello", said Ariana, bringing me out of my daze.
"Sorry, I just...".
"Anyways, let's get going quickly", she said. We went to the car and drove to Aunt Amina's house. Mashaallah they had a lovely home.
Baba rang the doorbell.
"Asalamwaleikum", greeted Ayaan as he opened the door to welcome us in.
"Waleikumsalaam", everyone responded. We all went inside and greeted everyone else.
"Appiii!!", Noor screeched as she jumped into my arms. I gave her a kiss on her cheek.
"Noor, I missed you sooo much", I told her. She gave me a kiss now.
"Appi, do you want to meet Dadi?"
"Yes, where is she?", I asked.
"Come, she's in her room", leaded Aunt Amina. All the ladies went up towards Dadi's room.
Aunt Amina opened the door to reveal Dadi sitting on her dresser brushing something onto her cheeks. Oh Dadi.
"Asalamwaleikum", Mama said as she entered the room.
"Waleikumsalaam. I was waiting for you all", she said as she came towards us. "I was just getting ready".
"Asalamwaleikum Dadi", Ariana and I greeted. She turned towards us and held our cheeks with each hand.
"Waleikumsalaam beta. I missed you two so much. You need to come her more often", she said sweetly as usual.
"Yes Dadi, but what is this I've been hearing? You aren't taking care of your health?", I asked in false anger.
"Don't worry about me beta. I'm absolutely fine. Let's go now I want to see the rest of my family", she said and walked downstairs without any support. I'm always surprised by the amount of energy she has.
"Asalamwaleikum Ami", Baba approached her. He led her towards the seats and helped her to sit down.
"Waleikumsalaam, so today you thought about me", she said. She made an angry face and turned her head towards somewhere else.
"I'm so sorry Ami, there was a lot of work to catch up with. I promise I'll come visit more often. Please forgive me", Baba said kneelig down and holding his ears. Dadi kept her hand on his head and smiled.
"Oh my son, did you really think I would be mad at you? You are too innocent", she said pinching his cheeks. "By the way, where is my other grandson?", she asked, looking around for Sameed.
"Asalamwaleikum Dadi", Sameed greeted from behind.
"Waleikumsalaam, how have you been? You've grown up so much!", she pinched both of his cheeks making us all laugh. When she left them, they were bright red, but not from the pinch, from embarrassment.
After chatting for a while, we sat at the dining table, eating the delicious food that Aunt Amina prepared for us.
"You all must come over here on Eid, we will celebrate Eid together", Dadi spoke up. "There's going to be a small function, we will invite close relatives and friends. Everyone will come", she said, putting last part in emphasis.
"Sure Ami, we will be there. What time?", Dad asked.
"After the Eid prayers".
"We'll come early, so that we can help you to prepare", offered Mama.
"Yes, that sounds like a good plan", Dadi finalised.
Eid will be so much fun with Dadi and everyone else. It also means more Eidi and more money. Yaay!!
However, it also means having to see Ayaan's face the whole day. Ugh!!
-------------------------------------------------------
"Don't tell anyone, but personally, you are my favorite grandchild", Dadi whispered to me as I gave her a foot massage.
"Hey! I'm right here!", Ariana pouted as she gestured towards herself.
"What's wrong?", Sameed asked as he and Ayaan entered the room, Noor following behind them.
"Dadi says that Appa is her favorite grandchild", she whined.
"Come on, we all knew that since I was born, right?", I bragged sarcastically.
"Nop. But we do know that Dadi is having pity on you. At least we don't bribe her with massages", Ayaan remarked. I threw a pillow at his face to which everyone laughed.
"Stop troubling my beta everyone", Dadi hugged me. Perks of being the good child I guess.
"Kids, it's time to leave", Mama said, entering the room as well.
"Aww noo!", pouted Noor. I walked over to her and kisses her on her cheek.
"Bye bye princess. I must leave but don't worry, I'll be back soon. Okay?", she nodded.
"Aww noo!", Ayaan imitated Noor and everyone fell into laughter.
"Hmph", I grumbled.
"Don't forget to be here on Eid... EVERYONE", reminded Dadi. We all agreed.
We left after saying our goodbyes. Obviously, Ayaan had to throw in his stupid comments. Why can't he ever shut his big mouth??
Dumbass.
