Safaa's POV
Today was Farah's and Zubair's Walima ceremony and everyone was in a rush to get ready and out of the house by 5:00 pm. And it was already 4:00 am and most of us weren't even ready yet. Therefore, Baba and Uncle decided to send all the boys to Uncle's house to get ready and so that they weren't in our way as predictable.
"Safaa!!! Come here I NEED the lipstick, mine's run out!!", shouted Ariana all the way from her room. I grabbed the lipstick we'd bought and quickly rushed to her room.
"And by 'your's' you actually mean 'mine'", I said as I handed her the lipstick.
"Whatever", she rolled her eyes and continued getting ready. I sighed and returned to my room which was a mess because of Aleena and I. Several dresses were messily laid out on my bed due to our last minute dress picking session. The dresser was full of makeup and jewelry which we yeah unconsciously threw all over the place. Some foundation had spilt from the dresser to the mat, permanently staining it.
(Who else can relate to foundation stains NEVER coming off?? 🙋🏼♀️)
Just then, Aleena came out of the washroom, fully dressed and ready to go. As she emerged, she was grinning toothily and she even spun around showing off her gorgeous dress. We both laughed at the way she behaved like those models on theramps.
"You look gorgeous!!!", I yelled. Honestly, I was jealous of the way that she could get ready in such a short time and still look so outstanding. I wonder how we're even BFFs.
"Thank you! But we don't have time for all these compliments now okay. Look at your face", she pointed. I turned to the mirror and gasped at what I saw.
In all the haste, I had unconsciously smudged my lipstick, applied mascara on my eyelids and messed up on the wings of my eyeliner. Ughh.
"Oh my gawd", I said like a brat. Or like Janice from 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S'.
"Yeah gawd", said Aleena. "And we have only limited time".
For the next few minutes or so, Aleena helped me wear my dress properly and styled my hair for me. She helped me pick out my jewelry and makeup to go with my outfit.
In about 45 minutes I was all dressed up. I got up from the chair I was seated on and with Aleena, glanced into the mirror. We looked OMA so Mashallah.
"Mashallah", said a voice from the doorway. We glanced towards the source of the voice. Mama stood there watching us with pride in her eyes.
"You two look gorgeous", she complimented. "And in a few months you will leave to go to your in-law place", she wiped a fake tear from her eyes. Sometimes Mama can't help but behave more melodramatic than the mothers from the 80s bollywood movies.
"Seriously Aunty, I don't know about her, but I am not getting married any sooner", Aleena commented making me roll my eyes.
"Okay ladies, can we please get going, the cars are waiting downstairs", Baba said quickly. We nodded and headed out.
Ariana joined us, she was wearing a a beautiful but simple dress and she had curled and let her hair down. She kept her makeup minimal, which really suited her natural beauty and wore large earrings and a necklace.
"Mashallah, you look gorgeous Ri", I complimented her.
"Well, ofcourse", she gestured towards herself. Everyone around us laughed except for me.
"Hmph".
Sameed's POV
The guys and I had been to Uncle Haseeb's place to get ready. Baba sent us all boys there because, "You guys will annoy the girls".
