Fifteen - Figuring It Out

A/N- Sorry for the late update. this past week has been really stressful, my dad has been really sick and I've spent many nights at the hospital with him, but he's home now :) and I've been trying to keep up with school and my assignments while all of this has been happening but I haven't been very successful. Anyway, thought I'd give you an update and even though it's late at night, I have to continue with an assignment now.

Chapter Fifteen ││ Figuring It Out

Daniel's POV

Skylar and I arrived at the restaurant for lunch, after she told Dad about Enzo's father. We sat down and ordered before we started to talk.

"So how did it go with Dad?" I asked Skylar as our drinks came

"I don't know, it was weird actually." Skylar replied

"What do you mean weird?" I replied

"Well Dad asked how Beau is taking finding out being a father." Skylar said

"Ok, that is weird. But Dad trusts you and I think he would sort of understand why you did what you did." I replied

"How are you doing with it?" Skylar asked, causing me to chuckle as she was always worried about everyone else.

"I should be asking you that Skylar but I'm ok with it, although it is a bit weird to think that Beau's a dad." I paused "What about you?" I finished

"I knew it would happen one day but I would have liked to be the one to tell you." Skylar finished as our meals came.

"So what is going on with you and Beau anyway?" I asked

"Not much." Skylar replied

"Don't give me not much." I replied

"We're working on things with Enzo, I mean Beau has been spending quite a bit of time with him, I guess its called father-son bonding." Skylar replied

"At least he's making an effort" I replied

"Daniel, he is making more than an effort." Skylar replied

"Have you heard from Ryan at all since your break up?" I asked

"No, but I didn't expect too. I mean I was the one who broke up with him." Skylar replied

"Did you break up with him because it wasn't working or because Beau is back in your life?" I asked cautiously

"It wasn't working and I didn't want to have to live a double life. I mean one with him and then trying to keep Beau and Enzo seeing each other. Maybe a bit of both really." Skylar answered honestly.

"You know thinking back, I should have guessed when you and Beau stopped being friends when you fell pregnant." I replied

"I distanced myself; it was the only thing I could think of then." Skylar replied as we both finished eating.

"What time do you have to pick up Enzo?" I asked, knowing it was soon.

"Very soon." Skylar said looking at her phone for the time.

"I want to see him before you drop me off, so can I come with you?" I asked

"Yeah, of course Daniel. Let's go and get him then." Skylar replied, standing up as I did.

We paid, walked to the car and started driving to the kindergarten to pick up Enzo.
