The trickster's function is to break taboos, create mischief, stir things up. In the end, the trickster gives people what they really want, some sort of freedom.

------------------------------Athena's POV
The sound of sirens echoed throughout the empty toy store. Police sirens if we want to be exact.
The known sound grew louder as the police cars parked outside the store. I'm currently standing on a skateboard rolling slightly, eating a snickers bar. I know priorities right? I push of on one leg so I go rolling down the aisle towards the two police officers that just stepped in through the front door that had a now smashed window.
Currently its 2:30 am on a Tuesday morning and I'm spending it in a toy shop. Usually they're not open but about half an hour ago I grew bored and wanted something to do, I was also a little peckish and couldn't be bothered to go to my local grocery store.
So, I may or may not have broken in. What can I say? It wasn't hard. The owners barely remember to lock the door so all I had to do was smash the glass in the door and open it from inside. It's not the first time I've done this. I think this is the twenty third run in with the police I've had this year. I think after the fifth time they just gave in and made a deal with my uncle that there was no point in charging me because I would just do it again once I got out.
My uncle just pays off the people whose things I've broken or for the damage I may have done to their bodies. What? When people piss me if I get violent, not my fault they don't know when to stop.
Officer Taylor and Officer Owens walk towards me. It shouldn't be a surprise I know their names, as I said before I've been arrested a lot by these two, it would be rude of me not to know their names by now. It's quite obvious I have a past with the law, unfortunately the wrong side of it.
Officer Owens stops me as I skate towards him. I give him a small smile and offer him some of my snicker bar. He chuckles but accepts it gratefully. "Do you always have to be behind this Miss Grayson, I'd like just once time to be able to arrive at a crime scene and see a guy in a ski mask and a gun in hand."
"Oh, darling I'm sorry, I debated setting a fire you know to bring those firemen over, they're much better looking than you guys. No offense boys." I wink.
Officer Taylor chuckles as he surveys the scene. There are a couple of toys laying on the floor and random sweet wrapper but other than that the place looks just like it did when I arrived. "So, you decided not to wreck the place like you did at Charlie's across the street?" He asks raising an eyebrow.
I rock from side to side on the skateboard chuckling at the memory. "No of course not the owner of this store didn't insult my cat." I smile.
Officer Owen gives me a long look. "One. You don't have a cat and two, you don't even like cats."
I nod, knowing its true. "Yes but Charlie didn't know that when he said it." He rolls his eyes and I give him a knowing look. "You know this is the last straw for your Uncle kid." I take a loud exhale, my shoulders slumping.
"I know but I can't be the perfect flawless niece he wants me to and anyway I just can't not have fun." Officer Owens chuckles before pulling his hand cuffs out.
"Come on Kid you know the drill." I jump off the skate board and stuff the rest of the Snickers in my mouth before turning around and allowing him to snap the cuffs on my wrists.
"Can we stop for ice cream?" I say as he leads me out the door, broken glass crunching underneath my feet.
"Not this time Kid."
