When I woke up Dr. Solace was standing over me with a couple of nurses. They looked worried, I didn't know why, was I asleep too long? I looked around the room, yawed, and then sat up. When I got dizzy I blinked a couple of times, the tension in the room had relaxed a little so I took the liberty of the silence to ask what was on my mind, but first I had to send the nurses away.

I looked at the nurses, “can you please leave? I need to talk to Dr. Solace alone.” I said to them, they nodded and left the room.

“What do you need to talk about Maiya?” He asked me when the door was closed.

“You knew!” I automatically yelled at him.

“Knew what?” he asked me calmly.

“Know that the Greek Gods are real, know my grandmother is Athena, and know that my mom is alive and well on Olympus.” I yelled at him.

“How did you find that out?” He asked me.

“In a dream.” I said.

“OH they didn't!” He said horrified.

“They did.” I said, “Why what wrong?”

“You're now in danger because you know. But you are not to tell your brother and father, do you understand me?”

“I'm not allowed anyways my mom and Zeus told me not to.” I told him.

“Alright, you can handle this they can't, you have always read and believed in them, if Alex and your dad found out it would destroy them.” He told me reluctantly. I didn't say anything all I did was look at him until I doubled over groaning with a sharp pain in my stomach. I didn't know what was wrong but it hurt and it felt like there was someone stabbing a sword in my stomach. “Maiya are you alright what’s wrong?”

“I… I don’t know,” I said through gasps of breath, “It feels, like someone… is stabbing my stomach.”

“NURSE!” He yelled and came over to me. The nurse came running in the room while Dr. Solace probed my stomach, “It’s not appendicitis we already removed your appendix. Nurse get an ultrasound, now, go.”

I laid their while they got the ultrasound, my stomach hurt so bad I could hardly breath but I knew I had to so I forced myself to keep breathing, all that went through my mind was breath in oxygen, breath out carbon dioxide. When they put the ultrasound thingy on my stomach so much pain engulfed my body I screamed out and stopped breathing. The nurse put an oxygen mask on my face and told me to breath and that it would be over soon. Any movement, any pressure on my abdomen caused pain I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. I was informed there was nothing wrong with me that hadn’t already been wrong and that there is no reason for me to be in so much pain. Dr. Solace doubled my morphine and left me with instructions to go back to sleep.

I tossed and turned for hours without sleep, my abdomen had stopped hurting after the morphine kicked in and I could breathe but the lack of oxygen had made my bronchial tubes start to close, which means I got another asthma attack. At a little after three o’clock in the morning Dr. Solace came in yawning to check on me, expecting me to be asleep, the fact that I was still awake made him unhappy.

“Why are you not asleep?” he asked me impatiently.

“Because no matter what position I lay in or what I do, I can’t sleep.” I told him. He walked over and grabbed a syringe then injected it into my IV.

“Have a good sleep.” he told me as I closed my eyes and drifted into a silent pleasant dreamed sleep.

In my dream I was in a long white dress standing in a garden filled with flowers and a marble fountain, I knew I was on Olympus. The gods materialized in front of me a minute later and my mother ran up to me.
