A/N: Hey guys! So I honestly didn't even realize how long it's been since I updated... I'm really sorry, it's just been really hectic. I feel like that's a terrible excuse. Any who, I have over 100 reads now which is like a huge accomplishment for me- so don't ruin the moment. Joking! I love you all!

CHAPTER 12: SECRET MEETINGS

The last week has been a complete bore. I am so sick of school! Thinking about the fact that its only November makes me want to curl up in my bed and never get up.

All I can think about is California: Do they have different accents there? What's it like to be in another time zone? What does jet lag feel like? Will I meet someone famous?!

I feel like a complete idiot when these thoughts run through my head, but I just can't help it. Nothing can ruin my mood. Or so I thought. You see there is one obvious detail I have left out.

I haven't talked to Austin since Lucy's birthday dinner (If you even count that as talking) and its killing me. I don't even know why, ever since I admitted to myself that I actually like him; there's been no going back.

It kind of bothers me. Why can't I like someone who likes me back? Someone who isn't an idiotic jerk who I want to flush down my toilet with his little cow of a girlfriend. Someone who my dad would one hundred percent approve of, someone who wouldn't fight with me 24/7, someone who would agree with me at least half the time. Who am I kidding? What fun is a relationship if there isn't any edge to it?

I am confusing myself to death right now and I think I just need a break.

Deep breath in.

Exhale out through your mouth.

Deep breath in.

Exhale out throu- wow I need to stop doing those yoga videos.

I was too busy engaged in my mental war to realize that the bell had rang and first period had now started.

"Wake up Girl it's Friday!" I hear Emily whisper in my ear as Mr. Herb walks into the room.

"Good morning class! I expect you all to have finished that essay I assigned on Romeo and Juliet," he announced way to cheerfully for 7:00 in the morning. There was a chorus of groans. Mr. Herb chuckled a little. "All right, it is Friday and I know you are all excited about your 2 days off next week-- you can have the rest of the period to work on it." The chorus of groans quickly switched to cheers. Mr. Herb held up his hand. "They MUST be handed into me by the end of this period or it is an automatic zero, no if ands or buts. Now, those of you who did your work may bring it up to me now for 5 extra credit points. The rest of you slackers get to work," he said sitting down at his desk. He seemed like he was in a really good mood today and no one dare question it.

Emily and I looked at Each other. I pulled my neatly typed essay out as she did the same. We walked up to his desk and handed it to him, where he proceeded to write '+5' on the top. "At least I can count on you ladies to do your work, you may have the period free," he grinned at us.

"Teacher's Pets!" I hear someone "cough" from the back of the room. What people don't realize is I'm not afraid to speak my mind.

"I'd rather get good grades and go to college than work in McDonald's for my whole life," I say simply before sitting down in my seat. Emily grins and gives me a pat on the shoulder.

I can hear the rest of the idiots in my class-

"Oohhhhhhhh"

"Dude! You just got owned by a girl!"
