25 - Renegades

Meta Knight

I walked onto the landing pad of the Enterprise accompanied by Arthur, Blizzard, and Dragato as Nic's ship landed on the runway. Jecra gently eased it to a stop, and they all jumped out of the ship and casually approached us as The Sage had instructed them to.

"We got your call," Jec whispered in my ear as we entered the Enterprise together. I could feel my eyes turn green as I glanced up at the Captain's Quarters looming ominously over us. "I still have a hard time believing it. Where is The Sage?"

"Inside," I replied. "I couldn't risk him being with us more than what the Captain wants or he'll become suspicious. He's with them right now, trying to 'decipher' the ninja scroll." I glanced at Nicolette. I hadn't told her about her mother's scroll or Yamikage. All their group had heard was The Sage's account of Galacta Knight becoming the Captain, and they believed it more easily than my group had. After Nic and I's experience with the Captain and Yamikage after he tricked her into becoming a monster, I wasn't surprised.

"What's our plan?" Ren asked, staying close to Nicolette's side. It made my stomach ache a little bit. I kept my back turned towards him as we entered the Enterprise and hurried onto my secret platform, which wasn't much of a secret anymore. Ever since Landia had come to fight Magolor with us and exposed my platform to the army, I had had many unwanted visitors. However, it was the only place on the ship not visible from the Captain's Quarters.

"We create a diversion, then one of us will sneak up behind him and ambush him," Cosmos replied. Once we were all on the platform, I shut the window behind us.

"Ambush? Don't you mean trap him?" Arthur asked nervously.

"Sure, sure. Let's go with that." Cosmos said. Arthur raised an eyebrow under his mask.

"We need a way to trap him," Nic added. She nervously fiddled with her dragon necklace. "Do we have anything in our arsenal capable of trapping the most powerful being in the galaxy?"

Closing my eyes, I thought about it. The only celestial objects we had in our possession were Nicolette's Bushido Katanas, and they only amplified and controlled her powers. Even if Nic could make a chi imprisonment strong enough to hold the Captain, she couldn't hold him for a long time. We needed to seal him away long enough to stop Nightmare. Only then would we be ready to finish him once and for all.

I wish there was some kind of weapon we could use to seal him away for a few thousand years, I thought. Wait, wish. I wish. Nova! Nova could seal him away!

"I can use my wish!" I exclaimed. Nic's eyes widened as I explained my plan to the group.

"Are you sure you want to use your wish?" she asked. "I have a wish, too, you know."

"Save your wish for something far better," I said. "You deserve that." I could feel Ren narrowing his eyes at me.

"That could work," Jecra said, "but how are we going to get Galacta Knight to Nova?"

"I can teleport him there," Nic said. "If someone distracts the Captain, I can sneak up behind him and teleport him above Popstar. We would need another crew to travel to Gamble Galaxy with Meta Knight and arrange the fountains over Popstar to summon Nova, and then Meta Knight will wish for Galacta Knight's concealment."

"I'll assemble the fountains," Amai offered.

"I'll go with her as well," Garlude said.

"I'll go with you!" Jecra and Blizzard exclaimed, then looked at each other and at the girls and blushed.

"I'll babysit them," Cosmos said, earning protests from the group. "I know how to arrange the fountains. I'll teach them. The rest of the group can stay behind in case of an emergency."
