changkyun was standing behind the counter of his parent's flower shop. he scoffed as he thought of it. the shop's motto was "we have flowers prettier than you". because of that they only hired 'flower boys', yet changkyun didn't think he fit in with that description.
never once was he called pretty. he knew he was more close to being handsome and just felt that it was ironic that he had to be in this situation. he sighed as he watched a couple leave the shop and plastered a fake smile on his face as he greeted them 'goodbye'.
"yah. changkyun, at least put 1 gram of sincerity into your job", hyungwon joked with the younger as he walked towards changkyun after having helped the couple out.
changkyun just groaned and grinned as he looked at the elder boy who he felt totally fit into the 'flower boy' title. hyungwon and seokjin were full time workers at the shop with some other part time boys that would come sometimes. out of all the workers there, changkyun was closest to hyungwon.
"ahhh" changkyun whined but it all looked cute in hyungwon's eyes, "it's so cringe when we have to greet customers with 'hello! we have flowers prettier than you! what would be of help to you today?' ", changkyun complained.
it was true that what they had to say was very cringe-worthy and changkyun had even thought that it would offend a lot of people but apparently that was not the case and their florist had become quite famous for not only have pretty flowers but pretty flower boys as well.
hyungwon was about to say something back when the doorbell rung alerting the boys that they had a new customer.
"hello! we have flowers prettier than you! what would be of help to you today?", both boys said in sync in an enthusiastic tone whilst giving wide smiles to the boy in front of them.
changkyun's eyes immediately widened a bit as he took in the appearance of the boy in front of him. the boy was probably around the same age as him, he had a sort of baby-face yet the scars and scowl on his face made it hard to tell. changkyun coughed a bit to get how attractive the customer looked out of his mind.
the customer on the other hand just frowned at the two employees with his left eyebrow up showing that he was judging them, very hard. the tall boy looked very anime-like while the shorter one looked cute, 'my style' he thought.
"i just want to buy a rose for valentines day", the boy said.
changkyun tried to hide his disappointment and just nodded his head. another customer had come in and hyungwon had offered to take care of them, leaving changkyun with the slightly taller boy.
changkyun motioned for the boy to come closer to the counter he was behind.
"would you like any specific rose or just the red one? and how many?"
the customer looked a bit flustered and scratched his neck before the emotionless face came back.
"just red and...5?"
changkyun liked how smooth the boy's voice sounded despite how rough he looked. he answered with a 'sure' before asking if the boy wanted it to be delivered or picked up. there was only 3 days left till valentines day and changkyun was already tired imagining how much they would have to do on that day. they had already taken over 500 orders for roses to either be picked up or delivered on the day.
"uh delivered", the customer answered.
"yep sure, if you could just fill out some details then."
the customer nodded as changkyun got the form up on the old computer that sat on the counter desk.
"yep, so first your name and the receiver's name"
the customer looked a bit sceptical at first and eyed changkyun in a suspicious way.
"oh, it's just so we can sort the roses out and also we add a little card for free", changkyun said in a slightly scrawny voice. although the boy standing in front of him was attractive, there was no doubt that he was part of a gang or at least fought a lot, based on the scratches, bruises and cuts he had which scared changkyun just a little.
the customer sighed a little before he answered, "lee jooheon and it's for jieun"
changkyun just nodded not bothering to ask for the last name of the receiver as the boy-jooheon hadn't given it.
after jooheon had given changkyun his phone number and the address jooheon wanted the rose to be delivered to, he paid before saying a stoic 'thankyou' and then walked away.
changkyun just watched jooheon walk away, he didn't know why he had a strange feeling in his stomach but he couldn't get the thought of the boy out of his mind.
"yah, you okay?", hyungwon said as he poked the boy's shoulder. hyungwon had noticed changkyun being very out of it when he had finished with his customer.
"oh-uh yeah", changkyun said before he quickly saved the order form to get away from hyungwon's stares.
yet when he looked back at the name "lee jooheon" that appeared on the screen, he wanted to see the boy again.
