1 and a half years later

changkyun was sitting in his room as he stared at his laptop in front of him. the boy was frozen and his mouth was left hanging open. regaining his consciousness, the boy reread the email he had just received. 

slowly, changkyun muttered under his breath.

"To: Mr Im

We are pleased to inform you that our publishing company will accept you as our new poet. We were impressed with the three poems you sent us and would like to see more of your work soon. 

If you have any enquiries, please contact the number below. If everything is alright, we would like to meet you in person Monday next week. Please follow the appointment details below and reply to us ASAP to confirm you will be joining us.

changkyun couldn't believe his eyes. 'they chose me, they chose me, they chose me, they chose me, they chose me'

jumping up from his chair, changkyun then jumped onto his bed as he rolled around on it ecstatic about being accepted. hugging the blankets, he calmed down as he thought what had happened. he grinned to himself as he hug the blanket, burying his head into it. the boy was so happy.

hearing the sound of the door opening, changkyun's head popped out of the blankets and he excitedly ran out.

in the past year and a half, many things had happened to the boy. changkyun had moved out of his parent's house, quit his job at the flower shop, moved in with jooheon, focused on writing more poetry, gained confidence, applied for jobs he actually liked and became much more happier.

jooheon walked into his house as he took his shoes off, a smile on his slightly tired face. he had a slightly rough day but he knew his vitamin changkyun would make him feel energised when he came back home. it was one thing that he looked forward to, seeing changkyun the moment he stepped into the house with a smile on that beautiful face and the reason behind that smile being himself. 

changkyun's smile turned into a slight frown as he observed his boyfriend's face. there was a small cut near his eye and a small bruise forming on his cheek bone.

"again?" changkyun asked while he walked towards the first aid kit.

"can't help it," jooheon said with a little shrug, "part of the job~" he finished with a cheesy smile on his face to tell changkyun he was okay.

sighing again, changkyun seated them both on the kitchen table as he got the antiseptic, creams and bandages he had gotten very familiar with.

"can't you tell them to not hit so hard?" changkyun said, sounding like a whinging toddler. changkyun knew the answer but he didn't like seeing his boyfriend hurt.

just smiling, jooheon cupped changkyun's face kissing him on the lips before kissing his forehead. changkyun broke into a small smile as he did the finishing touches on jooheon's face and now they both looked like fools, smiling so widely. 

but in a way, they were fools, fools that knew nothing but each other.

again, in the past year and a half many things had changed for jooheon. he had completely detached himself from the gang except for his regular talks and check ups of youngjae who was still one of his best friends, he had suggested that changkyun move in with him. with jooheon having to return half of the wealth he had accumulated over the many years in the gang, it would be hard to financially support himself alone. after resigning from the gang, he had looked so hard for a job, although changkyun payed half the rent, jooheon had to find a job eventually and he did. the pay was average but both changkyun and himself were proud. he was a karate teacher for children, jooheon liked the job because the kids were so cute, but of course jooheon thought changkyun was the cutest. it allowed jooheon to teach something he liked and it helped the children too, jooheon was very satisfied with his job.
