WARNING: there are mentions of fighting and guns here!

"uncle..."

the pieces of paper that were in jooheon's hand were now a crumpled mess as jooheon's knuckles turned whiter.

lee howon. jooheon's uncle that had ordered people to kill his dad in an 'accident'. the man that had pretended to care for jooheon's family whilst taking away everything that they once had. the man who had taken the business jooheon's dad had worked so hard for. the man who had sold jooheon's house by sending their mother away. the man that had manipulated their whole family. the man who had taken everything away from them.

jooheon's anger was subverted when his ringtone filled the empty storage room. grunting, jooheon reached for his phone but softened when he saw the caller id.

sighing and trying to calm himself down, jooheon answered. he was expecting curses, anger, sadness and disappointment from the boy he had left at home when he picked up the phone.

"hello?" changkyun's deep yet adorable voice filled jooheon's head. jooheon could only close his eyes as he savoured this moment, the only person that could help him get through the pain he was going through.

"jooheon? you there?"

jooheon only listened as his head fell. a muffled sound came out from his mouth and he quickly ended the call. dropping his phone on the ground, jooheon gritted his teeth as he held back in all the sobs that were threatening to spill from his mouth. after a few minutes, jooheon took in deep breaths as he calmed himself down.

stuffing the papers in the pocket of his leather jacket, he picked up his phone as he walked home.

jooheon trudged out the elevator as the doors opened, turning right he walked straight, his eyes glued to the floor. catching a glimpse of a figure outside his door, jooheon's eyes trailed up as the figure stood up.

"jooheon!", changkyun shouted as he ran up to the boy giving him a bear hug.

"why didn't you answer my calls? i was so worried!"

changkyun nestled his head in jooheon's neck as his grip tightened around the boy, missing his scent and presence.

jooheon stood frozen. he didn't know what to do and how to react but after a few moments, he felt hot tears stream down his face.

changkyun took a step back after as he looked up at jooheon in confusion. that was until he saw the tears on jooheon's face.

changkyun's mouth dropped a little as he stared in shock before he closed his mouth and wrapped his arms around jooheon's head. gently pressing it down so jooheon's head was on changkyun's shoulder, changkyun stroked the older's hair as he pet the older's back.

the two boys were now sitting on jooheon's couch, just like the day before. jooheon hadn't said a single word and changkyun who understood didn't ask any questions, just staying beside the older who seemed to be very troubled.

"should i leave now?" changkyun asked softly while rubbing his thumb, that was holding jooheon's hand, in circles.

looking up, jooheon shook his head as he muttered a nearly inaudible 'no'.

changkyun nodded as he inched closer so that he was holding jooheon in his arms.

stroking his hair again, changkyun whispered "it's okay to cry, i will be there for you. no matter what i will be there for you."

changkyun was actually a little surprised by the words he had said himself and he watched as jooheon's head rose from his shoulder and his eyes looked at his. they had only known each other for a few weeks and had only started officially dating for a day, but they gave each other what they were missing. strength.

jooheon's eyes glistened as he stared into changkyun's gentle eyes. leaning forward changkyun pressed a soft kiss on jooheon's cheek before wiping away the tears that had fallen from jooheon's beautiful eyes.

the two stared at each other and no words needed to be exchanged. they both felt the warmth and love that the other was feeling for them.

"changkyun" jooheon said earning a small nod from the smaller boy, "just one more thing to do and then i can leave the gang, i promise you"

changkyun just smiled as he nodded pulling the boy into another hug.

"i trust you"

jooheon planted a kiss on changkyun's forehead, the younger was still sleeping whilst jooheon had gotten a call telling him to meet at an old warehouse. the last mission was going ahead. jooheon wrote a little note for the younger when he woke up and stealthily left the house, making sure to not wake him up.

jooheon hopped onto his motorbike, riding for nearly 40 minutes before arriving outside the warehouse. in the darkness of the night, jooheon could only make out a few figures. walking up he recognised them to be youngjae, suwon and jisun.

the boys noticed jooheon walking towards them and youngjae spoke up.

"our job is to vandalise the place and then burn it up okay? boss said to make it known that we did it so just trash the whole place before we burn it."

everyone nodded and suwon and jisun walked forward as they started the job. youngjae picked up some paint and spray paint and handed them to jooheon. as jooheon was about to walk off, he felt youngjae's hand on his arm making him turn around.

"you...you're really leaving after this aren't you?"

jooheon sighed a little as he nodded.

"you know this is what i want"

youngjae nodded as he forced himself to not cry. he would miss jooheon.

"okay. let's go"

the two boys made their way to the entrance of the warehouse but youngjae pulled on jooheon's arm again.

turning around, jooheon let out a louder sigh.

"what is it this time?" jooheon said with a tad bit of annoyance in his voice. he wanted to finish the job as soon as possible so he could officially leave the gang and then fulfil the promise he had made with changkyun and jieun.

youngjae looked at jooheon with seriousness making jooheon concentrate as well. "why is it so quiet?" he said whispering.

the two listened for a few more second before nodding to each other, a signal to leave. but before they could leave, they heard a loud bang. cursing, they both ran inside the storage to see suwon lying on the ground surrounded in blood and jisun getting beat up a group of men.

nodding to each other again, youngjae immediately dragged suwon to a safer place and after making sure suwon was relatively okay, he joined jooheon in leeching the men off jisun. it was a bloody fight. jooheon and youngjae against four armed men. that was until anoter bang was heard and youngjae immediately crippled to the ground holding onto his leg in pain.

turning around in panic, jooheon's eyes widened as he saw a figure clouded in the darkness of the night slowly approach them. taking this chance the four men pinned jooheon onto the wall as he struggled.

"let me go!" jooheon shouted as his eyes wandered from the four men, the man with the gun slowly approaching, youngjae who was shaking from the pain beneath him and his two comrades who were severely injured.

the loud 'click clack' of the mysterious man's shoes caught jooheon's attention and he looked up to see the man walking towards him.

"who do we have here?" he said. the way he said it annoyed jooheon. the cocky and satirical tone that was just so familiar.

jooheon knew who it was just by hearing that fake tone he had heard too many times. when jooheon could see the man's face, he wasn't surprised but the man was.

"jooheon?"

"uncle"
