“We’re moving to Australia?!” I asked. Are we really going to move? I don’t know if this is a good thing or bad?
“Honey I know it’s not the best time for this but I got offered a job with better pay and I want to take it,” mum answered. A chorus of congrats came from everyone and mum was put into a huge group hug. I was happy for her, she’s moving on from dad and she’s getting a better job.
“Mum can I talk to you please?” I asked. I was going to tell her what has happened and that I want her to take the job.
“Sure honey.” We walked out and into the kitchen where I gave her a huge hug holding her tight.
“Mum there’s somethings I need to tell you that have happened at school in the past couple of days, you know TJ my boyfriend?”
“Yeah?” she said.
“He dumped me the day after grandpa and aunties death because he likes one of my friends more than me and then all my friends ignored me the rest of the week and I think they hate me and everyone keeps looking at me and whispering and I feel so hopeless but I really want you to take the job, I’m ok with it and I’m sure Braeden is as well,” I said starting to tear up when I told her the stuff that’s happened to me.
“Awww honey I’m so sorry but I’m glad you told me and I’m grateful that you’re ok with moving,” She said pulling me into a hug. We walked back into the lounge and mum told us that she was ordering tea and that people are allowed to stay if they wanted. After about half an hour the food arrived and we were all eating when Braeden and I went outside it was like a thing me and him always did when family was over and we didn’t want to stay and listen to them talk about things that met nothing to us. As we sat and ate he looked sad but happy at the same time, He loves to travel and visit new places.
“Hey monkey what’s up? You seem down?” I asked.
“I don’t want to move away from my friends,” he said
“It’s okay you’ll find new friends and we can always come back maybe,” I hugged him and we went back to talking and eating our tea. After everyone left, Mum, Braeden and I watched one of our favourite movie ‘daddy daycare’ and by the time that finished Braeden went to bed and me and mum started to pack up a bit more. We finished packing up the lounge, living room and study.
The next couple of days went the same, sleeping in, packing, dinner then more packing. Once all the rooms where packed and our furniture was being shipped to Australia, we boarded our plane and we landed in Australia on Sunday and let me tell you it was nothing like I thought it would be.
