Everything span after that, the people began to pack up and leave. So did Zach and I.
We went back with our arms linked, the air humid. The hotels lights were all switched off and we didn't even care nor realise that the time was 10:00.
As we got up half the path, I noticed a smaller path. Zach saw me looking.
" You wanna go in?" I nodded. I still felt like I had been drugged on excitement. I dashed forward, Zach called after me and followed. We climbed through branches and pushed back leaves. As I was walking, I began to speed up, rushing through everything in front of me.
" Summer! Slow down!" Zach tried to grab my arm but I tugged until he let go. I felt like a 4 year old, I wanted to explore, have an adventure so wild it filled me with joy.
I kept on going.... until I suddenly tripped and stumbled ont the hard ground. There was silence..... and then... chirping.
Zach and I looked around. Silence.
" Did you hear that Zach?" He nodded.
We looked straight ahead. Three baby chicks. I felt a hard sting underneath my belly. I slowly got up... A bird.
Oh god.... It's wings barely moved. I began to panic, If I killed their mother...!
I picked it up and cradled it. Tears rolling down my cheeks. Zach didn't move. His lip slightly open.
" T-This is why Zach! This is why I shouldn't try and be a kid! I'm just a stupid women who can't acept the fact that I can't have fun" I sobbed, gorwing harder until my lungs grew tight.
Zach rubbed my back and tried to take ther bird.
" N-No! Everything I touch.... I'll only hurt you Zach!" Zach moved my hand away and took the bird.
" It's not injured too badly. Look, luckily your so flat chested, all you did was cut it with your necklace,"
He pulled out a bandage and put it on the wound of the bird. The bird chirped slightly and I smiled. My face was hot and red but I was still happy.
Zach and I stopped as we departed down the path. He put his hand on my shoulder and leaned in a bit closer.
My heart started to beat like a million drums. I closed my eyes slightly. Pursed my lips and waited.
And we kissed, his arm went around my hips, and mine around his neck. Slowly he kissed me. Like in the old movies. The moon shining behind us. Our hands locked in eachothers.
Then we stopped, only looking in eachothers eyes. We grinned, and headed back to the hotel.
