Agreeing to come camping with your parents wasn't the best decision you'd ever made. The fact that it was raining the whole afternoon you'd been setting up the tent made it even worse. At least you would be able to have some time away from home, you kept on repeat in your head; trying to block out the thoughts of bugs, rain and cold.
It was almost 10pm when you stumbled clumsily out of your tent to go and brush your teeth as well as empty your bladder, throwing on a random pair of slip ons as you shivered in your pyjamas. The temperature felt almost 50 degrees colder than inside the (somewhat) comfort of your own tent, and so you dashed to the toilet/shower block in a hurry - looking forward to the warmth inside the small building. What you did not expect however was a guy - about your age - to already be inside the block, brushing his teeth in one of the mirrors. "Oh!" he exclaimed, clearly looking for something to say. "Is this not the mens?" he scratched his neck awkwardly, looking up and down your frame. "No... this is the women's shower block" you said timidly, walking over to the sink next to him.
"Omo... I'm sorry, I don't have my glasses on... I'm not a pervert, I swear!" he put up his hands in defence, though the way he kept glancing at your chest told you otherwise. You couldn't blame him though, the rain had soaked through your shirt making your bra very visible - with or without glasses. "It's okay... let's just brush our teeth, okay?" you smiled, spreading some of the paste on your brush before continuing on, sneaking a look at the handsome man a couple of times in between. "I'm Namjoon, by the way!" he spluttered, spitting a bit of toothpaste by accident. Chuckling, you answered "I'm Y/N, it's nice to meet you".
Though, upon noticing you shiver a couple of times - and upon realising that you were just wearing a thin shirt that had been soaked by the rain - he tapped your shoulder shyly. "Would you like my jacket? You look cold... I wouldn't mind, I have another" he smiled, already taking it off, "You don't have to... but thank you, I'll return it tomorrow when it's not raining anymore" you chuckled, feeling warmer at just his touch as he helped you slip the sleeves onto your arms, the jacket almost drowning you with how baggy it was.
"So... how old are you then" you asked after a short silence, whilst washing your face, "17... my parents wanted me to come camping to give my little sister some company" he further explained, patting his face dry. "Ah, I see... I'm 16, my parents just didn't want to camp alone" you smiled, throwing your hair up messily into a make shift ponytail. "That's nice of you to join them... are you just staying tonight or...?" he questioned with a small amount of hope in his eyes. "I'm staying tomorrow night too" "Woah! Me too!" he gasped exaggeratedly, making you laugh.
"You have a beautiful laugh... and I bet with my glasses on you'll look even more stunning than you do right now..." he chuckled, blushing slightly. "Yah, do you just come to the women's bathrooms to flirt or what?" you laughed, gathering up your things as you prepared to leave for your tent. "I'm sorry, I'm just so glad there's someone as pretty as you here when I have to camp, I feel like I won the lottery!" he cheered making you blush, "I just have to go to the bathroom first... then I'll walk you to your tent since you don't have your glasses?" you offered, "Okay! Sure!" he smiled with a pair of cute dimples appearing either side of his face. "I'll wait out here" he chuckled, holding your things as he leant against the door.
"Ah, it's just here I think, is there a silver car on the right side?" he asked, blinking quickly as he tried to adjust his eyes to the darkness. "Yep, this is your tent" you beamed, helping him get near the entrance, "Thank you... really, I probably would've stumbled into some random person's tent" he giggled, and you could've sworn you'd never heard anything so angelic before. "It's fine, happy to help" you grinned in response, patting his shoulder as a sign that you were leaving. "You'll be alright to get to your own tent?" he asked whilst trying to quietly pull open the zip to his tent. "I've got my phone light, I'll be fine" "Well.. thank you again, I hope to see you again tomorrow! Hopefully not in the ladies room... but uh, I'd love to see you again" he chuckled, "I'd love that too".
By the time your eyes had adjusted to the bright of day the next morning, you were quickly ushered to get dressed and ready as: "The weather is perfect today for the beach!" You'd hoped to have seen Namjoon about the camping site but had no such luck, instead being quickly whisked off to the sandy beach by your parents. As much as you'd tried to focus on the soft crashes of the waves, the cheery sound of kids laughing and seagulls flocking about the air, your mind continuously drifted back to the though of the handsome boy. What was he up to today? Was he at the beach too? Maybe he'd be wearing nothing but trunks at the beach... Though he never seemed to show up until you returned back to your tent later in the evening.
"Ah, Y/N! Hello!" he plodded over, this time wearing cute glasses which you couldn't help but admire the way they framed his face perfectly, he even looked more intelligent with them on. Trying to act like he hadn't been waiting outside your camp for the last half an hour, he waved hello as he reached closer to you. "What are you doing here?" you asked in disbelief, your parents simply moving aside - not wanting to get in the way of your little romance scene. "I saw you leave this morning... and we went out to this museum for a while but you were still out when I got back so I decided to wait for you" he blushed furiously, bouncing from heel to toe on his feet. "Did you want to take a walk?" you asked, enjoying the wide eyes and beaming grin you got in response.
The two of you had managed to find a nice spot higher up on the camping fields, laying down on his jacket as you gazed up at the setting sun, awestruck at the array of colours spread across the sky. Not much was said, a soothing silence took over the two of you as you lay together, cuddled up to 'keep warm'. As the air drew crisper and quieter, small pecks and kisses were exchanged without the need of an explanation, you simply enjoyed the moment. Walking together hand in hand, heads leaning against one another, he chuckled as he realised what you were wearing. "You can keep the jacket by the way" he whispered gently, kissing the top of your head.
Choosing to come with your parents camping may not have been the worst idea after all...
