Chapter 2: Bitter Snows
Calyx’s Point of View:
She was in the operating room.
I thought she already passed but the doctor said that it was just normal for someone who’s in comatose.
Of course I was happy she wasn’t dead.
Very much happy that I can’t help but cry.
I am sitting here currently in the benches outside the hospital.
I didn’t felt the hunger or the exhaustion from the strenuous happening last evening.
I’m also still not ready to face her right now.
I’m scared of the fact that she might get in trouble again when she’s with me.
How did all come to this?
Remembering everything between us, I was drowned with the memories we spent together this past 7 years.
I’m pretty sure that our relationship went really rough.
It was a catastrophe.
But despite that bitter snows, she kept her smiling face and she always make sure that she give her very best for me to stay with her.
She gave her full effort but I ignored her.
Of course I was really young that time and I can’t feel anything for her that time except for pity.
I didn’t even realize that with that feeling in my heart, I fall so hard with her.
But it was too late to show her that, since she gets in trouble every time she’s with me.
I reminisce every single minute we had together.
And it all started 7 years ago, on a bus.
I was just 17 that time and I’m on my way to school.
*FLASHBACK*
It’s already 7:21 and I’m so very late.
I’m sure Professor Haft will punish me again and will order me to do embarrassing things in front of the class.
I remembered last time he told me to dance a girly song wearing head band and make up in front of the class.
It was hell! I really hated him that time.
The bus stopped and the next thing I know I’m running for my life to reach the room, hoping that he’s still in his office getting his things.
I passed some students in the hall and obviously they were late also.
Then out of nowhere, someone come out and I bumped to her causing both of us to fall really hard on the ground.
It was too late to stop myself so we really crashed to each other that hard.
Her things were thrown in the floor and so as her.
She was holding her back with a hurt expression painted on her face.
I didn’t get hurt that much but she was.
“Are you okay?!” I said in panic and helped her stand up.
She nodded and I get her things for her.
“I’m really, really sorry. I have to go.” I said as I give her things and ran away.
“THANK YOU!” she shouted from behind.
And at last, I reached our class room and fortunately our professor isn’t around.
I sat in my chair, exhausted.
I let out a sigh and just few seconds after that our professor entered the room with some familiar girl.
She was the girl I hit when I was running in the hall.
“GOOD MORNING PROFESSOR HAFT!” we said in unison.
“Good morning class. So here’s a transferee student from Japan. She was a top student there. She moved here because of a scholarship grant. I hope you’ll make friends with her and treat well okay?!” Our professor said with a wonderful aura. I could see his soul painted with violet blazing like fire, as if that was possible.
“YES SIR!” we said in chorus.
My classmates seemed to be fascinated with her beautiful looks and her long hair covering the side of her face.
Well her innocent looks really is catchy but she’s not that appealing.
(Calyx's Thoughts: Remembering what I was thinking about her that time, I realized I was wrong and I want to take it all back but I can’t. She was very beautiful and stunning.)
“Please introduce us yourself, Ms. Lopez” Professor Haft said to her.
“Hello everyone, I’m Lizzy Lopez, but my friend and parents call me Sissy. I’m half Japanese and half American. Well it’s not my first time here in this country but it’s my first time meeting people with same age as me and I’m quite nervous. So please, help me make my school life wonderful and please treat me well. Thank you!” she said with a smile and bowed her head.
“Don’t worry girl! We’ll treat you right!” said Amy who was surely caught by her appearance and good attitude.
“We’ll be friends here!’ Jessica shouted feeling the same way as Amy.
“That’s enough girls. Continue your girly bonding after class. Take your seat beside Calyx since that’s the only unoccupied seat.” Professor Haft offered.
Great she’s sitting beside me. WAIT WHAT!!!
This can’t be happening.
(Calyx's Thoughts: I’m so nuts that time. If only I knew she will be this good I’ll never let any distance bother our way that time. I really regret what I did before.)
She sat beside me and she stayed quiet as the class started.
From that moment, our story begins.
