Chapter 5: Truth Hurts
Calyx’s Point of View:
Ugh! I’m really annoyed with this shit.
Seriously?! Out of the millions of busses roaming the streets, why did we have to meet up here?!
With her disturbing visits in my dreams and mind is too much for me already.
And now 30-minutes ride to our school? With HER?
Oh my!
I’m not supposed to take the seat beside her and stand there the whole time when suddenly,
“Why don’t you take a seat here dear?” An old woman sitting next to the empty seat beside Sissy offered.
What the hell?! Are they all joining force to ruin my day?!
Aish! I really can’t- uh!
(Calyx’s Thoughts: I should grab that opportunity and sat beside her already. I’m so naïve that time. Wish I could go back.)
I’m really annoyed much but I have to keep cool and sit there and show them that I will be fine.
“Thank you”, I said and took the seat.
She was making this fascinated expression since I first saw her when I entered the bus.
She must be thinking how funny I was in her mind, or maybe not.
It’s like I wanted to know what she was thinking.
Wait WHAT?! Please just stop jumping to idiotic conclusions.
Remember to ignore her as long as possible.
I don’t have anything to do with her.
I just have to finish this 30-minute ride and then it’s all finished.
(Calyx’s Thoughts: I was thinking about not seeing her after that since I was really sick of her face that time. BUT… Destiny has its own way of lingering our lives and BELIEVE ME; it was so magical and wonderful. It’s like putting up all coincidences as one and then BOOM!)
Those minutes passed so long that I even counted stars in my mind.
It really is crazy to count stars during day time in my mind but that’s all I could think to remove her in my mind.
Then the bus came to a stop; she got up and started walking towards the exit.
I lay my eyes on her every step.
I didn’t even realize that it was already in front of our school.
“You’re a student right?” the old woman beside me asked.
“Yes, ma’am” I answered confidently.
“And you’re studying in this school, right?” she continued interrogating as the bus began to move again.
“Yes, ma’am!” I answered again confidently.
“Then you should go. Your school mate already did.” She explained.
“Oh, Yes. Wait, WHAT!” I suddenly got back into the reality and I hurriedly made my way to the exit of the bus.
“WAIT!” I said to the driver and it stopped, probably 5 kilometers far from our school.
“Sorry, I got to go.” I said to the driver and gave him the payment.
And as usual, I ran again to reach my classroom on time.
What am I even thinking that time?! Aaaah!!!
I really have to get her of my mind since she’s already ruining my life so much.
I reached the school, passed the guards in the school gate; witnessed other students’ craziness in the hall way and finally got into our room.
My best friend greeted me with such warm welcome as usual.
“Look who’s here, the KING!” Felix, my best bud said and tapped my back leading me to where he was sitting.
“Hey… I didn’t get to bond with you yesterday since it was quite rough, so let’s hang out after class. My treat.” I said as we were going to the spot.
“Yeah, sounds nice!” he said and giggled.
“So how does it feel to have such a beautiful girl sitting right next to you, huh?” He asked as he sat on the table.
“Shut up! It wasn’t good.” I said, disgusted.
“You really are the same! You were also like that when you first met Hannah.” The topic seriously jumped to nowhere.
“That’s crazy. It’s not that, Felix. She’s not even appealing that much.” I explained. But I must say he really got me there. He really knew me that much.
“Woo! Truth hurts bro! OUCH!” he said acting like he’s been hurt.
Well I must say, I did felt these things too when I first met Hannah.
Hannah was my child hood crush.
I, Felix and Hannah were best buds when we were in elementary.
That time, I confessed my feelings to Hannah even though I was still young and she seemed to accept it since she felt the same too.
Unfortunately, Hannah and her family migrated to Korea to live there.
Since then, I haven’t had any connections with her.
It’s the same way that my heart never beats for any other girl since then.
But it’s different now.
I feel strange every time I see Sissy.
She’s the first one to make me annoy and think of her that much.
She even makes butterflies fly to my stomach when we are near.
“Well, I must say. After all these years, she’s the first one to annoy me that much by thinking of her every time.” I explained, not looking at him while still standing across where he was sitting.
“She’s I nice girl I could say.” He said looking at my back.
I took a glance on which way he was looking and from there I saw picture-perfect scenery which is painted with Sissy’s bright smiles while talking to the other girls.
I know it’s quite girly but I think I saw her sparkle like crazy.
I was caught up with that moment and I can’t get my eyes off of her.
“Hey!” Felix from my back said but I ignored it.
“Professor’s here.” He said and I was flushed back to reality.
I went to my seat and so as Sissy.
She smiled at me and then another boring lesson begun.
