From the start of life,
until the very end;
I once knew you-
as my best friend.
Movies and talks,
even games galore;
We were as one-
now I know you no more.
They say things about friends,
"they come and go";
You are irreplaceable-
That much I know.
Laughter and happiness,
I've felt it all;
Now I sit in the dark-
awaiting your call.
We met years ago,
together we were a cove;
I knew a best friend-
you felt a broken persons love.
Now I see you everywhere,
And I can't pretend;
'Cause now the memories haunt me-
of my used-to-be "best friend".
