Prolouge

My Hands were hurting from trying to shoot that watcher down. I was hiding behind a rock knocking a arrow to my bow, I came out of my hiding behind the rock and pulled a arrow back and shot it straight into the watchers eye which killed it. There were three left that I needed to kill for their parts, I pulled out my spear and snuck up on another watcher in the tall grass. I lunged at it with my spear and pierced its armour bringing it down. I collected its processor which was very rare because when I lunged, the spear would normally break it in the process. I also got its lens without alerting the herd of striders. I took whatever I could and fled to mothers watch, a town that had most of the merchants in the Sacred Land where I could sell my parts for some shards and if I got enough I could even get a few hard head arrows or even a new bow!

Along the way I shot a few turkeys that I could sell. The walk to Mothers Watch on the path was merry and beautiful, but this time no birds were singing, that was strange because they never migrated. When I reached Mothers Watch it was flourishing with people and merchants, I bargained with one merchant who sold me some salts and spices for a lens and 4 shards! I sold him my three turkeys which gave me 6 shards. I sold my processor to a mechanic which gave me 74 shards. I walked around looking for any more bargains to get a new bow when a man came up to me and told me," I have a quest for you young man." "Excuse me?" I said.
"A quest to reclaim something of mine."
"And what do you want me to reclaim," I questioned.
"My spear from mothers Hearth," he answered.
I was confused, he wanted me to 'reclaim' his spear from Mothers Heath when he could get it himself, it sounded very suspicious to me... "Can't you get it," I asked.
"I heard you were one of the best hunters, so I want you to reclaim it from someone." he answered.
"So basically you want me to steal something that is not yours anymore."
"No no no no, they stole it from me, I will give you 300 shards if you reclaim it!"
300 shards for stealing, I didn't know if I should take the quest. It was risky but if I completed it I would not have to hunt for 3 months! "OK fine... I'll take it."
"Ok, good, good. Meet me here tomorrow at sunrise. "

After that I walked back home shooting more turkeys for supper. Here the birds were singing merrily, but why not back on the path to Mothers Watch? When I reached home my 10 year old sister came running towards me and gave me a big hug. After her came my mother giving me a hug and a kiss. We went inside and I told my sister all about my hunting, she was always so interested. I had not told her about the quest yet, I would tell them at supper.

"Luke, Anara, suppers ready!"my mom called. Me and Anara came running from the stream smelling the delicious smell of cooked turkey. After we said our prair to All Mother (our god) we picked up our knifes and tucked in. After a while my mom asked how selling and buying at the market went. I paused for a second,"I got a strange quest from a man at the market."
"What quest?"my mother asked
"A quest to...umm...to kill some turkeys for him," I lied...
