Chapter 4

A few people were screaming and others getting their bows to go investigate. I was just frozen with shock and it was like I could not move. I finally got back to my senses and followed a group of Braves. I could see in their eyes that most of them were scared because none of us had gone up against something like this. The smoke was getting closer and I could hear distant screams. What if it was the men in the masks or was it a machine that got through one of the embrace gates. Either one was terrifying. A few people ran past us. I could see houses now and stiders attacking people? They aren't aggresive machines, they were like bulls but with metal and shaper horns thats went horizontally across their head. In the village I see a black machine destroying houses. It had like tentacles coming out its back and one red eye. The Braves charged in and I stayed and shot from a distance.

I had killed two striders and the Braves killed the rest, but now the big black machine was still alive so i focused one of my arrows to his eye and shot. I missed and hit it one of its tentacles. It flung a few braves into the air. Not far away I heard war crys coming from the forest, it was the chief. With him we took the machine down pretty quickly. I put on my device and it scanned the body. It registered as a corruptor. It said it uses missles that hit machines and make them aggresive or 'corrupted'. I went up to it and scavenged for parts, I got some pretty good things. I was being selfish by doing this because the others were helping people that were affected by the attack. So I got up and went up to the commander, he was talking to a few Braves."Commander, sir," I said. He dismissed the Braves with a swish of his fingers."Do you have any idea what that was because if you don't I have no need to talk to you."
"Actually sir, I do," I said nervously.
"What was it and...and how do you know," he asked suspiciously.
"Well, ummm, I was scavenging in a ruin," I lied,"When I came across something."
"What did you see," he asked. I took the device out of my pocket,"This, its like nothing I have seen before."
"What is it," he asked.
"Well, it shows you the...unseen."
"What did it show you," he asked.
"It said that machine was a Corruptor and it caused the machines to attack us."
"Do you think those men you saw are behind this."
"I...I'm not sure," I said.

I went back with the Chief to Mothers Rise. The Matriarchs were tending to people and my mother was there. She looked me with anger and fear, ran up to me and said," What do you think you were doing!" she shouted while crying,"You could have gotten killed!"
"I know...I know. I'm sorry."
"What were you thinking," scowled my mother. "You weren't gonna tell the Chief, so I did," I said.
"Did he believe you," my Mother asked."Yes, he did," I said proudly.
"And did he find the men," my Mother
asked."No, because he was interrupted by the explosion," I responded.

So the chief gathered up most of the Braves that could still fight and went to investigate and find out where the Corrupter came from.
