Horizon Zero Dawn

Chapter 5

I went up to the Chief to ask to go on the investigation."Chief," I said. "Yes Luke," The Chief replied.
"I was wondering if I could help you with the investigation, because I can see the unseen," I asked."Well, of course young hunter, but only if your mother allows  it." So I went up to my mother and asked,"Mother, can I go on the  investigation to see where the...machines came from?"I said with a smile. My Mother looked down at the ground sadly and then said,"Ok, but please, stay out of harm's way."
I felt exiliration in me and ran back to the Chief to tell him that I could go with the investigation party.

We went down one of the paths to the attacked village and searched the people and the machines properly. All of the men in the dark suits had the same triangular devices on there ears. I turned on my device and scanned one of the other devices on the man's ear. It said it was a Focus. I took off one of the Focuses and put it in my pocket. We found some survivors and brought them to safety, the village was in ruins leaving at least 50 homeless, and at least another 100 dead. The bodies scattered across the village floor.

The trail of the machine lead far to a encampment that almost seemed deserted. A pale fox scurried away as we approached. It was empty, they must have fled when they heard their raiders were defeated. The men the chief took spread out and searched the camp. There camp was stripped of most supplies, there tents remained, black triangle shaped tents. I went inside one of the tents and there were 3 barrels, with some sort of green ooze dripping down the sides of them. I turned on my focus and scanned it, it came up as unknown, but said it was highly flammable, I didn't know what that meant so I pressed on the word. It read that it caught fire easily and could cause  explosions. I could hear people shouting," there's some barrels in this tent," and then another," and mine!"

It was a trap, I rushed outside the  tent and shouted," Its a trap! Get out of the camp, its a trap!"
Everyone stopped and looked at me, but it was to late, flaming arrows came whistling through the trees that surround the camp and BOOM! All I saw was flames and someone on fire running past me. I don't remember getting up, but the next moment I was on my feet and staggering to the forest which was already touched by the flames.

I stopped and looked around and men in black like the ones I saw with the turkeys were running into the camp, killing everyone. I started running with pain in my leg toward the forest. I took my knife out as a entered the aflame forest. I saw two burned braves, and a bow close by. I picked up the bow and took cover behind a tree well away from the fire. I looked down on my leg and the was a shard of metal pointing out of it. My leg was bloody and and I hardly knew what was going on. I looked out from having the tree, the flames made it hard to see what was going on, then a man in black came out of the fire with the chief at knife point and a few others with other braves also at knife point. They all started laughing and slit the braves throats, blood came pouring out, then a big one kicked the chief in the stomach and blood came out of his mouth. I still had a few arrows in my quiver at my waist. I drew one, as I pulled the arrow back one of the black men pushed a spear through the chieftains throat.
