Shay

I was talking to some of my dads friends when I heard someone yell "hey". I looked over and saw a guy, who I'd never seen before snapping his fingers at me. Was he being serious?

I ignored him and got back to my conversation when I heard him yell again. 'Can I get a scotch on the rocks? Wait, make it a double.' Then he rested his face on his arms.

Where did this jerk come from? And who the hell did he think he was he could treat people like that?

I walked over to him, tapping his head. He slowly lifted his head up and I looked straight into his bright blue eyes. 'What?' He mumbled.

'Haven't you heard of manners growing up?' I asked while I placed my hands on my hips. 'What's that supposed to mean?' He said with an annoyed voice while he sat up straight.

I rolled my eyes. 'I don't know where you're coming from, but around here we don't snap our fingers to each other like animals.' I told him while I poured his drink.

'Maybe if you paid attention to your customers I didn't have to.' He replied arrogant.

I really had to restrain myself from throwing his drink in his face, but something told me there was more to this bad boy act he was trying to pull off.

I placed the drink in front of him and was shocked when he chugged it like it was a glass of water.

He put his glass back on the bar. 'Can I have another one... please.' He teased. Which made me laugh a little.

'Everything alright?' I asked while I poured him another one. He took a deep breath. 'Sorry for being so rude earlier.' He apologized.

The look on his face when he said that made me feel sorry for him, not to begin about the look in his eyes. I could see he was hurting.

He looked up at me, straight into my eyes. Staring for a moment before he spoke. 'You really have no idea who I am do you?' I raised my eyebrows confused.

'Should I know who you are?' I asked in return. 'Nevermind.' He replied shaking his head.

I kept pouring him drinks when he asked until I noticed him getting a little drunk and decided it was one more and then it was enough for the night.

A while later, around closing time I noticed him hanging on the bar. One moment away from passing out. At least I thought...

I walked over to him and sat down next to him. 'I might be just the girl behind the bar, who pours amazing drinks.' I joked and a little smile appeard on his face.

'But I'm pretty good in listening too ya know.' I finished while I gave him his last drink. He sighed while he sat up straight. 'What kind of person would I be to keep a girl from her work.'

'Have you looked around.' I chuckled. He turned his barstool to look around in an empty bar and he smiled.

'Have you ever had your heart broken?' He suddenly asked, turning his face towards me. 'I wish I could say no, but yes I have.' I replied.

'Is that why you're so sad?' He took a deep breath and chugged down his last drink before he spoke. 'Well today was supposed to be a good day, but then I found out my girlfriend was sleeping with my best friend.'

Now I understood his behaviour. 'I'm sorry, that sucks.' I replied, not really knowing what else to say. 'It's okay.' He smiled.

'Well, I'm not good with the advice, can I interest you in an sarcastic comment?' I teased trying to break this weird tension by using one of my "Friends" quotes.

'Oh. My. God. You're a "Friends" fan.' He laughed. 'I am.' I answered while I poured us both a shot of tequilla.

'Who's your favorite?'

'Ross.' He replied. 'Ross?!' He's the most annoying one!'

'He's not!'

'He is!'

We both started laughing. 'Being the wisest one in the room I actually decided the previous one was your last, but I thought you could use this one right now.' I said while I gave him the shot.

'Well aren't you the sweetest.' He said sarcastically. We took the shot and then someone knocked on the door.

'Oeh there's my pizza.' I jumped off the barstool and walked to the door to pay for my pizza. Then walked back towards the bar.

I put the pizza on the bar and sat back down on my seat. I looked up and saw him staring at me. 'What?' I asked uncomfortable.

'Nothing, we just have so much in common.' He smiled. 'Like what?' I asked while I took a bite of my pizza. 'Well, to start with our mutual love for "Friends" and pizza.'

'Everyone likes Friends and pizza.' I chuckled. 'Well my girlfr- I mean ex-girlfriend hated both.' He looked so sad. 'Want another shot?' I asked.

'You can read my mind now too?' He joked. 'Yeah and I see bright things in your future so no more sad faces.'

'Yes, ma'am.'

We finished my pizza and I listened to him talking about everything and nothing while he kept drinking.

The more I got to know him I realized he was really cute actually. Not just his looks but everything. How could someone cheat on him? He seems so sweet.

But then again, I just met him, so I can't really know for sure...

'Where are you staying?' I asked because I was getting tired and longed for my bed.

He shrugged, I noticed he was completely wasted and figured he didn't have a place to stay for the rest of the night.

'Well I have an old couch in the back, you can sleep there if you want.' He sort of nodded and I led him towards the storage. Gently putting him down.

While I was getting ready to leave I found an old blanket and placed it over him thinking he was already asleep.

Finally ready to go home I walked over to turn off the lights when I heard him mumble 'thank you.' 'No problem.' I smiled.

Turning off the lights, I left and walked to the other side of the street where I lived.

While I made myself comfortable I couldn't stop thinking about the boy I met today. I felt so bad for what he went through, knowing exactly how he felt because not long ago I got my heart broken too...

Then I realized I didn't even know his name. Well maybe that's for the best.... Exhausted, I closed my eyes and before I knew it, I was sound asleep.
