Victor sucked a deep breath then knocked nervously and softly on the door. Faint footsteps were heard, and then they got closer. A blonde woman with eyes that are a light shade of green opened the door; she was beautiful. Her eyes landed on Helena; she hasn’t seen this girl before, who is she? She thought to herself.

“Hello, Anastasia.” Victor snapped her out of her thoughts. Her eyes moved from Helena’s and met Victors’ as she inhaled deeply; nervously.

“Hello, Victor,” She cleared her throat. “Olga.” She nodded at Olga, smiling faintly.

“Hello, dear.” Olga smiled back.

“What brings you here at such a late hour? And who’s the young lady with you?” Ana asked, looking back at Helena.

“This is Helena Lebel,” Victor introduced. “She has a long story that we would like to tell you, but it’s not very nice of you to keep us at the door in this cold weather, especially when we have lots of things to say.” He smirked.

Anastasia rolled her eyes. She took a step back to let them in. “Come in.” she gestured, smiling forcefully.

Helena and Olga got in first, and then Victor followed. “Thank you.” He smiled, teasingly. Only air was separating their faces from touching.

She looked up at him and their eyes met instantly. Ana felt a sudden chill coming down her spine.

“It’s been a long time.” He whispered softly, only for her to hear.

“It sure has.” She replied, breathing heavily.

“Are you guys coming or what?”Olga interrupted as she came to see what’s keeping them busy.

Victor immediately took a step back, startled as Anastasia faked a cough and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear nervously. Olga tried her best to hide her huge smile.

“Uhm, we’re coming.” Victor said as he ushered Anastasia to move in front of him like a gentleman.

“I’ll go change my clothes and get down to you.” Ana said.

“No need, we’ve seen you like this before and I, personally, have seen you in less than this, too.” Victor smirked again. Ana exhaled as she rolled her eyes again; her cheeks were turning into a light shade of pink.

“I can’t believe we were married once.” She whispered loudly. Victor just laughed.

They went to the living room and found Helena sitting there, waiting for them. Olga took a seat next to her. Victor and Anastasia exchanged looks before taking a seat next to each other. They were both nervous as hell.

“So, can you tell me now what are you doing here at 3 AM in the morning?” Ana asked. That’s when they told her Helena’s story. Ana listened, trying to hold her tears back.

“So, since they attacked our house, we won’t risk keeping Lena there. That’s why we were wondering if you would keep her here until everything is safe again because they won’t suspect a thing if she stays here.” Victor continued.

“Victor, of course I would keep her here. Don’t worry about it.”

“Thank you, Ana.” He smiled at her.

“Don’t mention it.” She smiled back.

Olga and Helena were smiling at them. They knew that something was definitely going on between these two.

“Okay, well we better get going. Shall we, Olga?” Victor stood up. They all did the same thing.

“We shall.” She smiled as she looped her arm in his. “Let’s go. We’re so sorry for disturbing you at this late hour; we really don’t know how to repay you for your favor, dear.” Olga said to Anastasia.
