Author's Note: In this part I change up the point of view so that we can get caught up with the happenings at McKinley, mainly The Triangle between Jake, Marley, and Ryder.

**•** Marley's POV **•**

The girls sat in the front row of the auditorium looking up at the expansive stage. They were alone in there besides the boys who stood on stage making sure Jake's friends, who were in a teen band, were ready.

They weren't supposed to be in there after hours, but the boys really wanted to do this song and the only people that would listen were Marley, Kitty, and Unique. They stole the keys from Figgins (who had become principal again after Sue was finally fired from that position, though she still remained cheer coach) that afternoon, but planned on returning them when they were done.

Marley felt uncomfortable. She sat between Kitty and Unique; however, she felt like she was in some secret place between Ryder and Jake. She hated being with them at the same time. I mean she was dating Ryder now, but Jake still kept staring at her!

Her thoughts were halted by the clicking of drumsticks. Ryder and Jake took seats on some stools they had taken from the science lab. Ryder cleared his throat and stepped forward, wringing his hands nervously. "Okay...um... we'll get started I guess. Thanks for coming girls."

Kitty rolled her eyes and tossed her Cheerios curl. Unique flashed an encouraging smile. Marley stared at the stage wall.

Ryder began:

"I used to rule the world

Seas would rise when I gave the word

Now in the morning I sleep alone

Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice

Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes

Listen as the crowd would sing

"Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!"

One minute I held the key

Next the walls were closed on me

And I discovered that my castles stand

Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand"

Jake joined in with Ryder:

"I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing

Roman Cavalry choirs are singing

Be my mirror, my sword and shield

My missionaries in a foreign field

For some reason I can't explain

Once you go there was never

Never an honest word

And that was when I ruled the world"

Jake continued as Ryder stepped back:

"It was the wicked and wild wind

Blew down the doors to let me in

Shattered windows and the sound of drums

People couldn't believe what I'd become

Revolutionaries wait

For my head on a silver plate

Just a puppet on a lonely string

Oh, who would ever wanna be king?"
