L.A by Moonlight

It was quite the romantic scene. The sandy beach stretching as far as the eye could see, palm trees swaying in the warm breeze. The moon rested his head on top of the ocean almost like he was being tucked into bed, the water acting as his deep covers and the clouds his memory foam pillows. A kind of angelic glow circled around the moon's head emitting a blueish light on the water's surface.

They walked along the shoreline hand in hand, gazing around at the picturesque landscape, ocean to their left, city lights to their right and them in the middle. They were one of the only people on the beach. Most everyone there, like themselves, were taking their lovers on ocean-side dates by moonlight. "L.A." Kurt sighed with a content smile across his smooth, angular face. "So beautiful here, though I do miss New York."

Blaine released his hand and instead slid it around Kurt's narrow hips, securing his husband to his side. "I can't believe we've been here for five days already. Tomorrow we see Katy Perry and then head back on Sunday to cold New York and school."

Kurt shushed him quietly. "Let's not think about that, okay? We still have a day and-" he was about to look at his phone, but thought otherwise. "Who cares how much time we have left here. Let's just enjoy it while we can."

"Agreed." Blaine replied.

They walked in silence for a while before Blaine stopped and turned Kurt to face the ocean. He looked out at the dimming horizon for a while and then slowly he held Kurt closer as he brought his toe to Kurt's shoe. Kurt's eyes were fixed on the vast water so Blaine took the moment to push down and the heel of the shoe slid off.

Kurt stepped back and his foot came out of his shoe. He looked exasperatingly at Blaine. "What was that for?!" He bent down and gingerly wiped sand from his navy blue sock, a disgusted frown on his face.

Blaine shrugged with a sly smile creeping across his lips as he tried to take Kurt's other shoe off but with no luck. Kurt stepped out of the way, accidentally kicking sand into the shoe Blaine had successfully removed. "Blaine!!!" He exclaimed. "Stop! I don't want you ruining my socks!"

Blaine kicked off his own shoes and let his bare feet sink into the cool material, the sand slowly shifting beneath his toes. "That's why I hardly wear socks at all!" He called to Kurt. "It's one less thing to put on in the morning and I won't have to get them dirty. C'mon, the sand feels great! Take off your socks and shoe."

Kurt rolled his eyes disapprovingly, but a slightly amused smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. After a while of them making faces at each other he shook his head and carefully took off his other shoe. "Alright, you win." He said as he took his socks off, rolling them up and placing them in his right shoe. Then he took his left shoe (the one Blaine had taken off), shook the sand out, and put it next to the right one.

Blaine out his shoes next to Kurt's and then took Kurt's hand in his. "C'mon, I know a shortcut."

Kurt laughed, "A shortcut on the beach? To where?" He teased.

Blaine tugged at Kurt's wrist and started running, Kurt stumbling behind him. "I'm referencing when we first met!" He called as they made their way across the beach and towards the water.

"I know." Kurt called back. "You've referenced that before."

Blaine stopped running and bent down to scoop sand into his palms. Then before Kurt could react he whipped around and flung it at him, nailing his husband in the thighs. "Gotcha!" he shouted.

At first Kurt seemed unsure as to be repulsed by Blaine's action or amused. Then he calmly brushed the sand from his red jeans and crouched down, grabbing a handful of sand and throwing it towards Blaine. It missed him by like five feet. "I can't throw." Kurt confessed.
