//004 : A VAMPIRE'S PET #1

before i start this review i need to clarify im reviewing a vampire's pet by jatsuchan, not any other book that goes along with this title because of how overused and cheesy it is. i dont believe there's anything i need to warn you about, yeah nothing. so spoilers are gonna be in this review so if you don't want any go and read the book in 5,4,3,2, and 1!

i have to say that i have not actually read the sequel in which gwen the protagonist is pregnant with colt, our love interest's child, so there's that if i sound strange while reviewing this. i honestly while reviewing this i felt as though it couldn't have outdone itself. so i honestly do feel like it's very good and i don't have too many things to complain or talk about.

one of the things i could only complain about is the poor grammar and the short chapters in the beginning, along with some... questionable things i noticed.

i'm 90% sure that the author isn't american / english is not their native language as they use 'oke' in dialogue rather than 'OK' or 'okay', which can get very repetitive. also cana having a crush on colt was very concerning as she's a highschool student and he's canonically either 21 or much older than that.

i honestly don't know how to rate this book as it's good, but i also feel like it could be better. one thing about this book is that the first few chapters are very short and could've been combined into one chapter.

PROS

- the book does explain how the slavery system and how it works instead of it basically being plot hole after plot hole

-the girls' favorite color separate them so i at least know which is which

CONS

-the ending is a cop out, how did colt leave gwen all alone and suddenly know she was awake near the end?
-the death of colts ex girlfriend is unnecessarily convoluted and i literally had to reread the explanation of her death like ten times.

-the idea of mates is only introduced at the end of the book

-speaking of mates, you'd think that colts parents would set him up with his mate, someone who loves him, rather than a woman he only has sex with

-why is gwen so casual about a woman with a knife entering her house?

-romanticizes slavery

-tfw you can't tell sisters apart

this book honest to god was a ride to start to finish and im glad it's being rewritten.

I RATE IT AS

7.1/10

OVER RATED V. UNDER RATED

over rated

WOULD YOU READ IT AGAIN?
