"What do you mean, Amy?" Tyler asked, getting rather concerned, "He just isn't talking? Mark talks constantly!"
"I know he does" she sighed, rubbing the back of her neck, "But he's been acting up. Won't ever talk to Jack after he found. . . out"
Tyler went stiff, "He found out about Jack faking his space sometimes just go make Mark happy"
"And now when he does space" she started, looking out the window, "Daddy isn't there to take care of him. Jack doesn't want me, he wants daddy. . ."
"That's. . . not great" Tyler sighed softly, "But on a positive note, Ethan is looking a little better"
Then he carried out rocking Ethan in his arms. It was nice to see him just look so peaceful. It was a relationship he sweared he never wanted but for Ethan's sake, he'd do anything to bring his best friend back.
"Yeah. . ." she sighed, "It's good that Ethan is getting better. I mean at least something is going right for us"
"Also we've been mostly left alone by other gangs for months" Tyler pointed out, "But one starts to wonder-"
"If they're giving us a false sense of hope before taking us out" she finished.
After chatting for a little more, Tyler placed the napping Ethan into Amy's arms. Then, he went into Mark's room.
There he was- just laying there. He looked worn out and depressed. It broke Tyler, knowing Mark only gets like this when he thinks he's failed someone. . .
"Hey buddy" Tyler said softly as he walked closer, "I know a lot of things aren't going right but you need to speak buddy. Jack's been begging for his daddy- he's actually spaced. I can tell when I look at his eyes"
Still no response. So he sits next to him, "Come on buddy. . ." he starts, rubbing his side softly. Then had an idea, picking up Pan Pan, "Pan Pan really doesn't like a sad baby. What Pan Pan wants is a happy baby"
"Pannnn. . ." Mark mumbled, reaching out to his red Panda, "Gwve"
"Only if you promise to give Jack a chance to explain himself" he hummed, raising an eyebrow. With a soft whine, Mark nodded.
Pan Pan was shoved into his arms before being scooped up. Then carried into Jack's room.
"D-daddy!" Jack cried, tears rolling down his cheek, "Daddy I'm sowwy! Daddy pwease, let me explain pwease pwease! I need my daddy back!"
Tyler placed Mark down, who just stared at his Panda. He chewed on it's ears, "I'm listening"
"I-If I ever said I was out of my space- you'd be upset. You'd think I was going to kill myself or cute. So after a while I just pretended to constantly be in my s-space for you" he starts, wiping his eyes, "I don't need it that often. I like t-ta play games and act and just do normal, not little things. Yeah my space helps and I need daddy but not all the time. Every time Amy told you not to baby me wasn't because she was being cruel but because I gave her a sign to tell her that I don't want it. That I was big and that I am highly uncomfortable with this situation. . ."
"Y-you mean. . . all those times. . ." he started, now looking Jack in the eye, "Th-that I started to cry and scream and blame Amy for not being able to b-baby you was because I just didn't get that unlike myself- you don't space 24/7?"
"Well. . . yeah" Jack whimpered, rubbing his arms, "B-But I am really space r-right now and I-I need my daddy. . ."
Suddenly, Mark bear hugged him, "Okay Angel, okay. It's alright, daddy understands. Woo need you're space and right now the person you need is me. Now, in future, tell me when you're out of space. I won't get upset or mad, I'll do my best to understand. Unless you're depressed- then you're spacing"
"O-okay daddy" Jack said quietly, nodding softly. It was just, nice to be in his arms around all the crying and fighting.
After watching them cuddle- Tyler left them to it. He walked out to Amy, "Can I have my baby back now?"
"Yeah, okay"
