A few days later, and Yuki had remained with the same attitude. Kenshin, who felt extreme confusion, did not depart from the Yoshida residence and stayed with Yuki and the rest.

While Yuki was in isolation, Kenshin took care of her home whilst he stayed. Although he had very little experience at doing such chores, he was practically forced to.

All of the cooking, cleaning, clothes hanging, garden tending, Kenshin had done it.

It was a hot summer morning, and Kenshin was outside the garden hanging multiple pieces of clothing. Tadashi swept the porch of the house, Jiro moped around, and Yuki stayed inside her room in silence.

The three shared no conversation; All they did was tend to their chores and mind their own business.

Frankly, Kenshin was worried about Yuki. She never came out of her room, she had not a bite to eat, not a word had escaped her mouth; All they heard was Yuki's angry exclaims and gentle sobs whilst they placed their ears against her door.

Jiro thought this was selfish - He felt offended that for days, they have been having cheap food as a substitute of Yuki's cooking; And frankly, he was angry that the only woman in the house would not tend to the needs of the men.

At many situations, Kenshin had an intention to enter her room, but Tadashi and Jiro advised otherwise.

Kenshin knew it - He shouldn't have stayed.

Although he was an ex-assassin seeking atonement, he felt that perhaps this was a way to pay for the horrible things he has done in the past.

Perhaps fate brought Yuki and Kenshin together, perhaps this would all be an enormous misunderstanding.

"Kenshin-san." Tadashi called, causing Kenshin to turn around and meet his gaze. "Oro? Yes, Tadashi?" He replied with a soft smile.

Tadashi exhaled sharply, "There's something you need to know about Yuki." He told him, causing Kenshin to furrow his eyebrows in confusion.

"What's that, that is?" Kenshin asked, averting all his attention towards the younger boy.

Tadashi eventually stopped and interrupted Kenshin's activity as he led him to sit down on the porch; Preparing himself to discuss Yuki's situation.

"Alright," Tadashi began, "I know you assumed Yuki to be an kind, enthusiastic, sweet and compassionate girl, but there's more to it than meet's the eye." He explained to Kenshin.

Kenshin looked at him, confused. "What do you mean, that is?" He asked.

"After the death of her father, Yuki was in deep grief and depression, which caused her to hold a grudge against her father's killer." He explained thoroughly.

Tadashi stared at the sky, "Her father was a spy for a Clan in the revolution - A Clan which spied on the Shinsen Gumi. Of course, after his death, her mother died of a broken heart." He sighed sadly.

"That's terrible, that it is." Kenshin frowned.

Tadashi nodded, "It is. And before her father died, he titled her as the Rose Of The Meiji Era, because he believed that Yuki would bloom like a beautiful flower, and allow the peace in Japan to last forever." He said.
