Alana's POV
I woke up that morning and got dressed in my go-to style: sweater and a pair of jeans. As I walked downstairs my mom was folding laundry on the coach. She turned towards me and smiled. "Have a great first day sweat heart". I walked out and headed to the hell hole we call school.
I am officially a senior, sigh. I always thought I'd be more excited but I honestly couldn't care less. After Daniel left, school really got rough for me. I had always been an outcast, but with Daniels outgoing personality by my side it helped me blend in. But after he left that all changed.
When Daniel left I began to get bullied.. a lot. I started to get majorly depressed and started self harming. It was hard. He had been my rock, so when he just up and left me alone my entire world fell apart.
Walking up to the school doors I let out a loud sigh, put my head down, and walked in trying to go unnoticed. Though to my surprise, note my sarcasm, it failed.
As soon as I walked in the doors I was shoved, I fell on my ass and all I heard was snickers.
"Watch where youre going loner" sneered Haliegh, the girl who had set a personal life goal to ruin mine.
"Look, the wicked bitch of the west strikes again" Kayla commented as she bent over to help me pick up my stuff.
Kayla was my only friend, or at least since Daniel left 3 years ago. We three had been a group since the 5th grade but it was just us after freshman year.
As we were standing up Haleigh opened her pink over-drawn lips once again.
"The little freak deserves it. Plus you're just as pitiful, you both should find some real friends" she flipped her hair off her shoulder and laughed.
"And maybe you should find some real personailty" Kayla spat.
"Come on Kayla she isn't worth it.." I whispered as we walked away. When I knew we were at a safe distance I began to speak.
"God she's a real pain in the ass.. literally" I rolled my eyes and began to rub my bottom where I had fell.
"Honestly, it's like she believes the world revolves around her just because her 'daddy' is the mayor" she said mimicking Haleigh's signature hair flip, following it up with an eye roll.
"But anyway enough about little miss priss. How are you holding up? Are you sure you can handle it?" she stopped me and looked into my eyes with a concerned look.
"Yeah? It's just school Kay" I stared at her with a confused expression on my face.
"Shit.. you haven't heard-" just about that time I heard a bunch of loud screams. Then from the crowd emerged no other then Daniel Seavey, my former best friend.

Daniels POV
Today is the day I return to my home town. I've been gone for three years on my music journey. I joined a band with 4 other boys. We've gotten pretty big, take in the high pitch screaming around me. Me and all the other boys decided it would be nice to finish our last year of highschool in an actual highschool, instead of on a tour bus. You know besides Jonah cause he already graduated.
It's been a while since I've been home, living in LA for the last few years and all, it's a big change. Especially when you were "normal" teen the last time you were in this building. Jack decided to enroll here with me instead of back in his home town, so at least I had someone who wasn't busting my ear drums.
When I looked around the corner I saw two girls, both stuck out to me but one more so. Alana.
She still looked the same as last time: mildly short, blonde naturally wavy hair, grey-blue eyes, glasses, and that smile.. oh dear God that smile.
I tried to wave but I was lead away by a brunette, with very big seemingly over-drawn pink lips.
"Hey sexy. Have fun on tour? If you ever need anything, call me" She grabbed my hand and wrote her phone number, then walked. I mean she wasn't unattractive but I guess she just wasn't my type. Shit. Alana. I turned around to try and find her again but the halls were overcrowded with people.
I guess Jack could tell I was looking for someone. "Hey man. Who you looking for?" He spoke looking where my gaze was.
Looking away I said, "Oh no one.." and I started walking to Jack's and my first class.
