"we're not here because we're free.. we're here because we're not free, there is no escaping reason; no denying purpose.. because as we both know, without purpose, we would not exist." Agent Smith~

that's what he's been telling me all these years because I've sought answers as to why an abnormality like me, exists.

that's always his answer.

if someone else, that was human.

who knew about the two lives I live, asked me.

"am I tired of living these two lives?"

I'd say, "I'm never tired, nor do I worry about fear, whatever happens, is because it had to."

Zion>

in a corridor, I walk slowly with my hands behind my back.

my eyes never blinked, instead, they just stared into the distance.

and glowed in white fluorescent light.

it was quiet.

"Scarlett!" Bane called running down the tunnel, trying to catch up with me.

I calmly turn around in my own time.

I got a good look at him as he approached.

I always thought he looked so similar to someone I knew in the Matrix... (Agent Smith)

he jogged over, and largely embraces me.

"it's late, I couldn't find you, you need to stop wandering off like this every night." he scorns me sincerely in worry.

I simply smile very subtly, my hands were still placed behind my back.

the issue with living this way is I could hardly sometimes be alone, or escape, to enter the Matrix undetected.

I do it every night, it's the only chance I have to slip away without being plugged into a chair and monitored.

like a Virus, I can enter the Matrix willingly, through walls, mirrors, etc. like portals.

but it looks like tonight, I won't be going.

I know he needs me, (Agent Smith..) but I can't go if someone is watching.

I'm their source of information, I tell them things about Zion.

I can't be caught.

"Scarlett?" Bane calls in concern and confusion, slightly snapping at me.

I was daydreaming, thinking about the other world, and the Agents.

I inhale in surprise, snapping out of it, and gazed at him.

"come on, let's get you back to our room, you look ill, and you feel cold." he insists in perplexity and wraps his arm around me, walking me away down the direction he came from.

I exhale lightly, and gaze away at the left corridor wall, with a secretive look on my face.

Time skip>

the red door creaked open, and we slowly shuffled inside.

as I keep stepping forward, he pushes the door closed in a sideways stance, he peered at me briefly.

he locked it then came forward towards me.

he put his hand on my shoulder, "come on, lay down."

I gaze at him, then move toward the bed, I sit on the side quietly.

he helps me take my boots off and stuffs me under a thin blue blanket.

"I'll make you some hot herbal tea.." he rises and quickly, but calmly enters another room.

he was still visible.

he boiled the tea for about a minute, then started pouring it into an old brown tin cup.

I watch for a second, then look away, slightly moving my arms and body toward his side of the bed.

it seemed like he was in a hurry, as he rushes back over.

"here, drink this, it will warm you up," he assured lovingly and held it over me.

Truth be told I wasn't really cold at all.

I look at him silently a moment, then politely accept it.

I take a small sip, then look at the ceiling.

he started becoming concerned again, "is there something on your mind? that's bothering you." he asks.

I gaze at him again, still silent.

"no.." I reply in a slight exhale, with a hint of humor under my breath.

he just stares at me.

"that's not what it looks like, you're not well, you need to stay here for a few days and rest." he strongly informs me.

"Bane, I'll be alright, come on, let's go to bed." I boldly reply, but kindly.

he was kneeling, but gets up and walks around the bed.

he pulls the blanket back as I set the cup on a splintered old side table.

he gets in bed and gets comfortable.

he puts his arm around my abdomen and lays his head on his pillow.

his eyes were wide open, but he soon closes them as the light goes out.
