Chapter 7: the oracle's answers

Bane jumped down and joined me at my side as I headed toward the door.

He opened it and we walk out, "I'm sorry- I had to." he mutters.

"It's alright, I understand how you feel, I am sorry too," I replied regretfully.

I touch his cheek, "Maybe I should stop acting so standoffish.." I add sincerely.

he grabs my shoulders and rubs them gently with a soft grin.

as I Stare into his eyes, Cypher moves into my view.

I look over Bane's shoulder and peer at him coldly while thinking to myself, "I have questions that need to be answered, I have to go see her I can't put it off anymore."

"just as soon as I'm away from everyone again, that's when I'll go." 

"Scarlett?"

"Is everything okay?" Bane calmly tries to get my attention.

I resume my conversation with him, "yeah, something just caught my eye."

"it's nothing though.." I assure with a slight smile.

Cypher stares a moment longer before disappearing.

Bane looks behind himself in curiosity, but there was no one or anything there.

I look down at the floor, my head still ached from the attack I had.

I honestly this once at least, needed to listen to Bane about resting.

I was actually tired- from all of the pressure of trying to keep my other life a secret and living up to my purpose.

however, I don't fully understand what that is of course.

"I think I'm going to go to bed Bane.." I inform him.

he faces me again and nods.

"let me take you.." he puts his right hand on my back and walks me to our room.

as we traveled through the tunnels, and across the bridges all of the lights that went by irritated my eyes.

causing my headache to become worse..

"ugh.." I moaned, having to cover my eyes as I walked.

he touches one of my arms with his left hand, as his right was still on my back.

he was concerned, he had to guide me going as fast as he could to get me there.

when we arrived he quickly turned the wheel and carried me inside, straight towards the bed.

after he placed me gently into bed he goes back and closes the door.

he made sure to turn off every light until it was pitch black.

except for one small dim light, so that he could see to get around.

I pull the blanket over my head and laid there with my eyes open, staring at the darkness.

suddenly the shrieking in my head and ears struck again, I rolled onto my back and screamed in pain.

I clenched my eyes tightly..

Bane jumped onto the bed and loomed over me in a panic.

my breath was heavy.

when it stopped I opened my eyes, but my vision was cloudy and my hearing was muffled.

the only thing I saw before passing out, was Bane's face and him repeatedly calling my name.

I could feel him touching my upper arms, holding onto them tightly.
