Lin couldn't see anything, not even her hands if they were in front of her. She didn't know where she was either. She felt like she was on an old bed that was next to a wall. She felt the wall and it felt like the paint was scrapped off of it, but not completely. She felt too scared to do anything, too scared to even move. Lin decided to leave the bed, the only thing that she was sure that was in the room. She placed her feet on the ground and the coldness of the concrete shocked her. She stood up and walked towards nothingness with her hands in front of herself so that she could tell if something was in front of her. Lin walked forward a few more inches and then her toe hit something that felt soft like clothing or a blanket. Lin kneeled down and felt it was her hands. Then suddenly she felt a face, hair, and then a liquid substance on that face. Horrified Lin moved back as quickly as she could, so much that she slammed her back into the metal bed accidently. She screamed out in pain. Then suddenly a creak came from the other side of the room, dim lights came on and then steps in her direction from around a corner.

The person coming towards Lin hid his face behind a black ski mask and he said nothing. Lin shouted at whomever it was to let her go, but all she heard was laughter. Lin felt around where she was and underneath the bed until her hands met something metal. She kept it behind her back so that the man could not see it. The man inched closer. In his hand was a syringe with a mysterious liquid in it. Lin kept the strange man to let her go and that if he did she'd never say a word about being there. The man said nothing to her cries. He was now right in front of her and was kneeling down to probably give her whatever was in the syringe. Lin wasn't going to let that happen, so she gripped the piece of metal tightly and swung it at the man's head. This impact caused the man to fall onto the floor. Lin immediately ran towards where the man had come from. She saw the door, but before she could open it she was grabbed from behind and flung across the room. Lin was back where she started. Her whole body ached from the impact and she almost felt like she couldn't get up, but she knew she had to fight back, she knew she had to do whatever it took to not let this man win. Lin looked around the room, seeing the girl finally for the first time; Lin tried to hold back her tears. She didn't want to end up like that poor girl. Right next to the girl was the syringe; Lin figured that it must have been knocked out of the man's hand when she hit him. She crawled to retrieve it right as the man was coming for her; it appeared that he realized what she was trying to do. She grabbed the syringe and right as the man approached her, leaned down and latched his right hand on to her left wrist that had the hand that the syringe was in it, she dropped it from that hand and it landed on the floor by her right hand. With her right hand, she picked up the syringe and stabbed it into the man's neck as hard as she could. He cursed at her and then with his left hand the man took the syringe out of his neck and cursed at Lin some more. Lin tried to break free of his grasp, but that only resulted in making the man angrier. He slapped her and then threw her towards the ground. Lin's head hit the concrete with such force that she felt as if she had suddenly received a severe migraine, but she wasn't going to let this stop her from trying to reach freedom. When she was finally able to sit up, she noticed that the man was lying down as if in a slumber. Lin guessed that whatever was in the syringe must have been a liquid used to knock people out. Seeing her chance to escape, Lin tried to get to her feet. Struggling at first, she then finally was able to walk towards the door. When she got there it was locked. Her heart was pounding now, faster than it had when the man was coming towards her. She realized what she had to do, even if it was the scariest thing that she could imagine.

Lin went towards the man quietly, hoping with all her heart that he would not wake up. She got to him and knelt down, feeling the now familiar cold concrete on her knees. She put her hand into one of his pockets and felt nothing. She had to lean over his body to search his other pocket. In that pocket were keys, she pulled them out and promptly got to her feet. A thought popped into her head to pull off the man's mask, but she was too panicked to go through with the thought, so instead Lin went back to the wooden door and tried each key until one of them worked. She opened the door quickly and closed it behind her.
