"Awww, don't they look so cute together?" "Heh, they sure do. Though we must keep our voices low, we'll wake them up."  Ted slowly opens his eyes only to see his mother taking pictures and his father standing next to her, smiling. (Y/n), however, didn't quite hear the two enough to wake up. "M- Mom what are you doing?" Ted asked as his face turned dark red. "I'm just taking some photos of the two of you, cute couple." Jane replied, smiling at Ted. " W-We're not dating, I've already told dad about it." "Yes well, you have a funny way of showing that "friendship'". Michael replied, smirking as Ted gave him an annoyed look in return. "For the last time, (y/n) is just a friend of mine. So stop calling us that." "Oh really? Then explain that." Jane asked as she pointed out their hands holding and (y/n) sleeping on his shoulder.  Before Ted can yell out the same line, (y/n) yawns as she stretched her arms. She looked up and saw everyone looking at her, giving her an awkward position. "Uhmm...Morning?" "Good morning, sweetie. How did you sleep? I hope the couch wasn't uncomfortable for you." "Oh, no. I've slept pretty good. The couch was just perfect." Jane smiled at the girl and looked at everyone. "Well, maybe we should start the day off with a nice breakfast." She walked to the kitchen as Michael followed her to help. (Y/n) watched as the two left and looked back at Ted who was still blushing from earlier. She giggled which made him more focused on her than the past.  "Your parents are so cute, Ted." "Cute?" He asked as he looked up to the kitchen and spots his father giving his wife a gentle kiss on her forehead as she takes out a pancake mix box. He looked down at her and sees that she too spotted them and smile at the scene. "I'm gonna change out of my pajamas, you okay staying here for a while?" He asked her as she turned towards him and nods. Minutes later, Ted head down stair and noticed that (y/n) wasn't in the living room anymore. "(Y/n)?" He called, until giggles and laughter from the kitchen caught his attention. As he walked to the kitchen he sees his father setting the table, his mother clearing the kitchen counter, and (y/n) flipping the last few pancakes. "You're just in time for breakfast, sweetie." He hears his mother as he smiled in reply. Ted walked over to the table and sat down. His father sat next to him, followed by his mother, leaving an empty spot between Jane and Ted for (y/n).  (Y/n) put the plate of pancakes down at the center of the table before taking her seat. "Thank you so much for helping me, (y/n)." (Y/n) looked at Jane and gently nodded. "Well, you've been helping me with my problems. It's the least I can do, since the whole police situation." "Oh, sweetie. I'm just glad to help...I hope you don't mind me asking but.. What happened that night?" (Y/n) froze up a bit by remembering that single night. How her father hit her, dragged her, and yelled at her. She wanted to tell Jane the truth, but didn't know how to put it in words. She had already felt bad enough when the police mens came over to their house and thought that Jane and Ted had "kidnapped" her.
"Well....I tried to tell my dad the truth and he...well, he just didn't wanted to hear about it." "..But why did you move?" Ted asked with a sad expression. At this point, both parents looked at (y/n) for the answer to his question. She didn't look at anyone anymore and for that, it made everyone worried. "Is something wrong?" Michael asked. (Y/n) looked up and snapped back into reality. "Oh. Ya..sorry, I was just thinking about that day.." she answered. Michael and Jane looked at each other then looked at their son. Ted had already know what made her so isolated all of a sudden, so he then decided to change the subject. "Wow, these pancakes sure taste good." He looked at her and smiled as she faced him. Michael was a bit confused for a moment until he realized what Ted was trying to do. "They sure do. Thanks again for helping,(y/n)." (Y/n) looked and replied to him with a smile as she finished her pancake.
Once everyone was done, (y/n) wanted to help by washing away the dishes. "You've been helping so much, you deserve a brake." Jane said as she grabbed the sponge. Ted walked (y/n) to the living room while Michael stayed and helped his wife. (Y/n) turned and saw the two smiling at each other, not having to fight over who has to do dishes, or throwing any plates around. Her smile later on faded as she remembered what her childhood was. For that, Ted saw the sad girl and hugged her from behind. "You okay?" He asked. (Y/n) knew she couldn't lie to him, especially since he and his parents have helped her in so many ways.
"Every time I see your parents....I remember my own parents. So opposite in many positions. When they talk to each other, they don't use such calm or sweet tone like they do...its rather more aggressive and loud...your dad leaves your mom gentle kisses while my dad leaves dark bruises..and when they look at each other....its almost like they've fallen in love all over again...while my parents hate each other to ..... death...."
Ted looked at her eyes and saw tears already falling down her face. He gently used the pad of his thumb to wipe it away as he looked into her eyes. "....You're so lucky to have parents like them..."
